We need to make Buddy Turnage say no before anything… he took us to the semifinals before Katrina, won state at Belle Chasse, and just took Pearl River to state… for everything he’s done, I don’t think he’s ever coached in 5A

And he’s still relatively young…

If not him, one of the Powells, Coach Glenn or his son, and whichever one doesn’t coaches Nunez…

Nice. A parent told me he will be a high MLB draft pick

Good coach but I would be surprised if he left Pearl River. But you are right, make him say no.

It does not matter who Catholic throws and when!!! They will win no matter who throws, They are the Class team in Select Division One this year! Head above everyone else!

BTW I hope I am wrong and they lose! I hate them!

He started the semifinal game in 08 vs. teurlings. Didn’t throw a lot if I remember right.

All the Collins boys are good athletes. The oldest Matt played some college ball.

Mark headed to ULL

Myles is a FR. Biggest of the bunch. Hope he’s finished growing or he won’t be able to play baseball. LOL

2nd highest BA on the team to his brother Mark, IIRC. Mark hitting over .500. Way too early to talk about the draft with a FR that plays C

the rules are different now tho with the pitch counts. They used to throw the 1 in the quarters or semis and come back and throw them in the finals at some point

He did start all 3 at ZHS, but in 08 Zachary jumped up 5-0 VS TC in the first and pulled him. Threw their #2 the rest of the way. Almost came back and bit them. Won 7-5

And yes, year 1 he was the #2 on that 07 team which was loaded. All 3 starting pitchers were drafted in the top 18 rounds out of HS.

Ryan Martin’s arm is probably held together with fishing line

I feel like Cecchuni pitched Nick bourgeois, Chris Denton and Leblanc every game

So Sam is the favorite in 5a right? They have to get one eventually

Barbe wont have much pitching left if they beat Benton

I’d say it’s a pick’em between WM and Barbe. WM offense is the best lineup in the tournament - but Barbe just thrives during this time of year and are extremely hard to beat in the state tournament

They’re something like 33-6 on they year - they have more than just one dude that can pitch

How would the 3 seed be the favorite? Can they win it all? ABSOLUTELY. They haven’t given up a run yet. As I posted earlier though, WM gave up 2 total hits to Chalmette while scoring 26 runs. Then threw what should have been a perfect game, it was a no hitter with a BS walk, then 6 more innings with 1 hit against Central. WM’s lineup this past weekend was: Ole Miss, Tech, LSU, D1 football monster 6’5” 250 DE, undecided junior, ULM, best average on the team. WM started the year #2 in the nation.

Then Barbe is Barbe. They dropped early games to nationally ranked teams, but they are still the cream of the crop. No one would bat an eye if they won both games decisively.

Benton is scrappy. Winning two games against these 3 other teams is asking too much imo, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they upset Barbe with their ace. That’s just baseball.
