You just have to make up your mind as a coach what the ultimate goal is

Winning the whole thing should be every coaches ultimate goal at this point. Nobody gives a shite who comes in 2nd.

Every teams #2 will have to win a game at some point - if your confident that he can win in the finals then you should be confident that he can win in the semis

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Some coaches want to get there to have a shot.

Others are willing to blow it in semis just at the chance to have their best guy out there.

Simoneaux at WM is a guy who will hold his ace for the finals and risk the 2 or 3 in semis.

Whereas when Barbe had Jack Walker, he threw the semifinal game. And i think he had a no-no through 10 innings with 12 K's?

It depends on the coach. I'm not getting second guessed. I throw my ace in semis to make finals. Worry about the finals another day.

This is what I feel

If I were Catholic I would throw Loup vs Acadiana and save Schmidt for the finals

Loup is still a stud so the risk doesn’t seem like much to me

And you can get second guessed regardless. If you pitch Schmidt and win 12-0 you would be second guessed. You can’t worry avkht that

When I played, 4A (biggest class at the time) played the State Tournament at THE Alex Box, the original.

Acadiana is 19-18.

Started out 4-8.

All that goes out the window. They're both 0-0.

Acadiana has seen Barbe twice and Sam Houston twice. No doubt they've seen pitching.

Don't trust the accuracy of maxpreps.

Need to verify on Geaux Preps and the LHSAA site.

Not that there's that much difference in the records.

I’m not saying Acadiana sucks

But Catholic has to win two games tk be state champs

Acadiana

AND

Curtis/Rummel

It doesn’t matter the order. You have to be a perfect 2-0.You will have to pitch Schmidt and Loup. I woukd ask myself is Acadiana better than Curtis or Rummel and then make decisions based on that

Now if Acadiana has a stud pitcher I think starting Schmidt is the answer

never understood the decision to play the 5a title game at North Park. You'd think the top class in LA would have a more noteworthy location.

LHSAA wanted to centralize the event to make it more attractive for cities who wanted to make bank with the hotels…

But yeah if I’m Catholic I throw my ace in the semis. If I’m any other team I also throw my ace with my #2 coming out the bullpen… if you get there and lose without throwing him because you were saving him for the final it’s coaching malpractice

Recently they had an opportunity to throw their ace vs Ouachita Christian in finals due to rain delay and he was ready to go and was told he would pitch, only to have the coach throw their #2, which was quite a drop in talent

Who were the pitchers? I covered one of the finals against OCS.

I'm saying they could've picked a better field than Denham. It was a nice field, just did not have what others had. I'd rather play at ULM instead.

Myles Collins had the hit that preceded the HR. I credited Mark , who did have an RBI and a hit. I reached out to the editors to correct it, but I knew you might catch it first.

So they stuck it in the corner, barely in Louisiana? At least they save money yearly with Barbe getting to sleep in their own beds.

Sorry for the delay, woman. I was actually "warrioring" it up all weekend long on the field....Not sitting in the bleachers. Not whining and trying to find an illegal feed on the internet of the game while I sip on my sweet tea....Out sweating on the turf in various locations, listening to bitches whine.

Thank you.

That Luna kid seems like an absolute gamer. I'm hoping LSU gives him a look while at LSUE. His grandfather was an LSU athlete, rodeo I believe.

And they only have to send staff to one place for administration, security, rule interpretation (allegedly), etc. Profit! (Which is their #1 goal)

Are you insinuating you are a coach of one of these teams in a message board thread arguing with fans?
