Not unless there is more plate we can’t see. He literally lifts his cleat up with the mitt before reaching the plate.

I didn’t see that. Regardless, Catholic was scoring 4 or 5 runs that inning.

It was a good game. Schmidt was throwing well and WM put some good swings on him early.

St Aug gets another bases clearing gapper in the 7th inning, then in the bottom of the inning Chalmette loads the bases but we don’t score and St Aug wins 6-3

They have strong ties to WM. Both their kids played for WM and Shake coached there. Hell, Ponti’s kid still playing for WM. WM got beat by a better team tonight. That could change over the next 2 games.

If it was Schmidt that they went toe to toe with and into extras, absolutely well played by WM. That says a ton about WM.

I just watched the video. He looked safe to me but to say it wasn’t close is clown talk.

Looked awesome, especially for the competition level and being his first two varsity games.

1st game he went 1-2 with a triple, two walks

2nd lead off with a hit, then struck out looking then I left. Understand this was against a senior that is committed against tcu

Was fastest kid on the field at all times, looked awesome in CF

JD Alexander, #1 in soph class, also looked good in first game. Hit 3 shots right at people. Struggled second game after 3rd inning when he gave up the runs in the 4th

Was not overly impressed with the TCU commit or the A&M commit for FM. The catcher who is Arkansas commit impressed the hell out of me though. That team can straight up hit.

Diego Corralles continues to impress to. Just steady and puts up numbers, game after game. Mid major talent but someone is getting a gem.

Barbe is definitely taking a step back this year.

They don’t have the pitching. They don’t lose 8-3 and come from behind to win in 2 of their first 4 games

Arencebia wasn’t overpowering but was very effective. He threw over 100 pitches which surprised me this early in the season. Brother Martin gets past Tuerlings 3-2 in extra innings.

again you have no clue wtf you are talking about. You havent been to a game and are basing it off 2 games against great competition

1) they are playing a much harder schedule than they ever have before because the LHSAA changed rules so these games count. So they are playing other top teams in the nation. Barbe was the underdog against Flower mound who is the reigning 6A texas state champ, returned 9 starters, has 7 D1 commits and pitched the TCU commit

2) they played FM after a tough game against Live oak who happens to be one of the best teams in louisiana this year and pitched their ace against Barbe. Barbe lit him up but hit it right at people over and over.

3) Barbe is fine at pitching. Have Alexander who was awesome against FM for first 3 innings. Got in a little trouble after he made an error on a bunt and got down on himself. 7 of the 8 runs came in 1 big inning where barbe was pressing and made 3 errors

4) barbe is going to lose some game preseason this year. Having Live Oak, Flower Mound, Concordia in the first week of the season is hard, then having the big PG national tournament in hoover before the first month of the season is over and having to play national number 1 in the first game is not gonna be easy

5) other than diego the pitching staff is young, mainly soph and freshman. But come playoff time they wont be inexperienced.

Anyone that knew anything knew barbe was going to lose a couple in the pre district season. cant play the schedule they are and not lose some.

Brother Martin finally has some pitching this year, and they forgot how to hit.

Yea, have to think they will start hitting at some point. Pretty good lineup. They need to reshuffle it though. Don’t agree with the current batting order.

That’s funny I didn’t know they were playing flower mound, Texas

I thought it was a school in Louisiana I didn’t know about. I went to Barbe and live in DFW and DFW has some of the best baseball talent in the country

I often wonder how Barbe would do in some of these districts with Southlake, Colleyville Heritage, Flower Mound, etc

They are all littered with former Texas Rangers and MLB players that live in the area

Who do yall use for statewide scores?

And to lsu777, yeah, Barbe is going to be right there when it counts, regardless of what the chronic underdog followers would like to see (I include myself in that number on occasion)

LO Threw the older Weller who is a Tulane commit. He is good but Pruitt is the #1. He is an Ole Miss commit, very tall, big kid that throws up to 92. I think he is supposed to start against Flower Mound.

I was at my son's game last night so was watching this game on GC and they had the ground ball in the 7th that scored the tieing run as an E6. What happened there? Tough play or did he boot it?

LO is young this year. Started two freshmen, and a few Soph. Heard 2nd hand that the Griffin kid for Barbe looked like a racehorse, fastest player on the field and the LO freshman Jones is a 6.8 60 kid.

Alot of talent on the field.

Thanks for the updates lsu777!

Gotta hand it to you, for not being a Barbe guy, 3 sons who don't go there and a busy life/schedule, not being on staff there, you sure do have a keen interest about them and know more than most parents with a son playing.

Barbe will be fine come post season time. They will be battle tested and ready.
