You can't build a program overnight when the players were zeroed out and we got an NOA less than 2 years ago. But of course anyone with functioning brain cells knows that already.

What is worse than a Will Wade fan? A McMahon nut hugger is way worse.
At least Wade produced winning teams, fun to watch teams, and excitement in the men's basketball program. McMahon has done nothing close to what Wade accomplished.
As an alumnus of both McNeese and LSU, I am fortunate that one of the basketball programs is well coached, winning, and exciting to watch!

At least MM fans actually pull for LSU to win.

Yeah give MM 6 years he will get this turned around,it takes time for a middle school coach to get the right players and win besides he's a nice a guy and he gets LSU moral victorys what more could you want. LSU leads college basketball in moral victorys!

This post makes literally zero sense. McMahon’s biggest complaint is that he doesn’t win and you’re suggesting we wouldn’t be happy with winning all of the games remaining on our schedule lmao wow

The over generalizing and rash accusations thrown at anyone frustrated with McMahon is astonishing
I’ve never seen a segment of our base so accepting of underperforming while trashing lsu coaches who actually win. I’m convinced some people just enjoy being the antithesis and playing contrary even if it makes zero sense.
And no one can hold two thoughts at once. You can agree McMahon deserves another season while also being frustrated. This is frustrating. Lamont Paris is running a clinic on McMahon at South Carolina, a school that doesn’t have a fraction of the brand equity we have

Wait … you’re using Kansas, one of the bluest of the Blue Bloods as an example? Tell us more about that time Kansas rebuilt their program from scratch overnight. There may be other examples but Kansas ain’t it.

It’s clear at this point that McSuck is not going to turn this thing around. I and many others are just waiting for the inevitable coaching change to care about men’s basketball.

The way he coached at the end of the game like he has ice in his veins. I think the future is bright once he gets some better players!
How about the way he coaches at the BEGINNING of each game? As far as getting better players, there is the rub. He is recruiting lousy! In 3 years of classes (this one not over yet admittedly), he has signed a grand total of 1 top 60 HS player. He has yet to find the feared 3 point shooter...he has a 7' that can score but can't rebound or block shots...LSU gets outrebounded every game seemingly...and their defense is a matador defense. Other than those "minor" details, yeah the program is on a roll! From what I've seen, McMahon is a decent mid-level HC which is not what you want in the SEC.

I'm beginning to have my doubts. The announcers were saying how Florida has been having trouble with the zone and once we switched we made the comeback. Why did he wait so long before making switch? I do like how this team plays; they fight hard. LSU has had a tough SEC slate so far, and I see them putting up a few more wins in league. These coaches have forgotten more about basketball than I will even know, but in the end I think it boils down to how much talent is on roster. CMM deserves couple more seasons that should give him sometime to develop a little more roster continuity, and will determine if he will be successful at LSU.

I don’t know why so many people can’t simply just discuss CMM, without comparing him to Wade. Wade is gone, so we will either improve or eventually move on from CMM. CMM seems to be doing a decent job. I don’t know if that will be good enough. There are coaches that can scheme around lesser talent. Like Bum Phillips used to say about Bear Bryant, “he can take his’n and beat your’n, and then he can turn around and take you’n and beat his’n.” I don’t know if CMM is that type of coach, but if he isn’t, we’ll probably know by the end of next year and move on from him. I’m disappointed that we’re still losing to the top teams, but I’m enjoying seeing a better product this year. Last year was painful to watch. This year has been much more pleasant, despite the heartbreaking losses.
On a side note, I’m preparing myself for another loss against South Carolina, because when teams get embarrassed like they did against Auburn last night, they usually play much better in their next game. It would’ve been far better for us had they had a close game against Auburn. I won’t overreact to losing to a team that just got slaughtered. On the other hand, maybe Auburn revealed how to play South Carolina, although I don’t think we have the talent to defend them like Auburn did.
