My 13 year old loves WW2, so I send him the thread when you post your models. He said your paint skills are awesome.

Very nice work Darth as always.

Is it just me or is the overall appearance much more realistic since you went back to airbrushing?

I know you said you used to thin your paint a lot and do multiple coats when brushing but this model seems more uniform and makes it look more like someone took a full size tank and magically shrunk it down to fit on your desk.

Hell I'm 5'9" and worked on CCTT and I hated getting in the driver's compartment on a simulator. I could just imagine how a driver had to contort his body to get in through the hatch on a real Abrams.

Thanks! You should buy him a model and a set up to build his own. It’s a fun hobby he can enjoy the rest of his life.

Thanks. Glad you like it. I agree the airbrush is a better look.

Well, there’s two ways to do it. If the main gun ia over the back deck at the right angle, you can enter the driver’s compartment from the turret. If the main gun isn’t aligned right, then you have to come in through the driver’s hatch. I’m not a big guy so either way was pretty easy for me.

Yeah I knew about this one as well, I just never got to see it IRL. I was assigned to the Bradley unit so I never spent much time on the Abrams set. Just to help train the some that's about it. So I knew more about the M2/M3 than the M1. Plus we saw more Bradleys than Abrams when the 256th was mechanized.

The base coat doesn’t look hand brushed. Did you use a air brush or rattle can?
