***Spoilers****

Did not know 10 Cloverfield Lane was based on a script called The Cellar, which does not have the alien tie-in. While the original script was flawed and needed some of the rewrites that were done, leaving out the aliens at the end would have made it better. Apologies if this is old news.

If I remember correctly the original script was pitched and forgotten about until JJ Abrams picked it up and decided to produce it. I love the movie and wish they had called it the Cellar. Would’ve made it the most epic reveal if no one knew it was a cloverfield movie until they hit the mail box in the end to reveal the address.

Anyone else find the idea of a bomb shelter cellar south of I-10 in Louisiana laughable?

Just one that doesn't float.

And I'm sure we've all driven past this sign many times.

I pick, it is just one of those things that, as a local, sticks out as not working.

Kind of like people in Michigan laughing their asses off at “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey when he says “South Detroit”, which would be Windsor, Ontario, or the east side of Chicago in “The Night Chicago Died”, which would be Lake Michigan.

Good point. Another example of the original script being better.

This is exactly what was done with “The Joker” and “The Batman”

Kinda like Split?

I guess the biggest difference is in that case the revealed connection was to tie both Unbreakable and Split in to a third movie that wrapped back in to the first.

If they had done the same with “The Cellar” the would have lost any benefit outside of the “coolness” of the reveal -
Not that doing so would have been necessarily bad.

Thought this was common knowledge.

Wasn’t cloverfield paradox the same way. A movie called god particle that got scrapped and turned into a cloververse movie.
