What a fricking game…and I’m only on Chapter 3. Might already knock God of War 2018 off as my favorite game. After having played both, I’m surprised RDR2 didn’t win GOTY over God of War tbh

The game peaks at the end of Chapter 3

I tried again recently to get into this game and I just can't. The gameplay is so slow and boring its unbearable. I'm sure the story is great but its a game first, it needs to be fun to play and this isn't.

Smoking a bowl and wasting an hour fishing or hunting was the bees knees my dude

Absolutely. Or just taking a bath or sitting by a fire smoking some heaters while drinking and eating. It’s the shite and I never thought I’d say that

But I also think it’s Arthur himself and the gang that roped me in too.

I got aggravated on having to redo the first mission due to my dude getting slightly outside of the river. Never done it again.

Other than gameplay, this was my biggest gripe. It's an open world game....unless you're on a mission. Take a few to look at a waterfall off to the side, start over.

One of the GOATs I’m glad you’re enjoying. Immerse yourself and enjoy the ride

First time I played it I barely made it to the first town out of boredom.

Picked it up again about a year later and slogged through the beginning again, but kept at it.

About two days later I was hooked and didn't put it down until I completed everything.

Great game.

I recently bought RDR and RDR2, decided to play RDR first after an internal debate. Seems like playing in release order is better than in in-game timeline. Feels like it will make RDR2 hit harder.

One other thing I learned is that Carson shits on RDR2 in every thread about it.

I played RDR2 before RDR and had trouble getting through the first mission. Between the controls learning curve and being required to slowly trudge through the landscape, I also almost gave up. In the end I sunk hundreds of hours into RDR2 and loved it.
