Do not build an AR-10, they are not built to mil spec like AR-15’s. Meaning most of the time you can’t mix and match parts from different companies. If you go the AR-10 route just purchase the whole gun.

This just isn’t true. I have built 2 AR10’s with no issues. I will say it’s a good idea to buy the same make upper and lower but the majority of the other parts were from 5 different companies. Never had an issue.
