I was very curious to see him play before making any comments. I know the current state of affairs with La ODP is less than ideal so it is hard to say what "good" looks like with ODP since most of the TDP kids skip it. That said, you can see raw talent in him. He made a few moves past TDP level defenders but couldn't get off a good shot on goal. At times, Jesuit sports 3 TDP kids on the backline alone so I knew he was facing a stiff challenge. I won't make any comments on whether he's overseas level, but it is a shame he doesn't play TDP and get to show himself against the MLS academies in TX, CO, and MO. But maybe he will get a look from MLS academies by being on the ODP national team. I wish him luck.

Thanks for the rational reply. Maybe I’m a little overzealous and definitely biased. He is a great kid and a great teammate. He is obviously very raw and I believe is just starting to scratch the surface of his athletic potential. Has never really been interested in TDP but maybe that will change. As far as I know he will continue to play for Ascension as well but will also be spending some time in Europe this spring… so we’ll see where that goes.

(Regardless it is exciting for the kid and those around him. It’s a shame that some people go straight to downplaying and crapping a kid’s achievements.)
