Completely agree with this. With Brooke the show had a more professional and legit vibe- something I bet Underhill preferably wanted and why he hired Brooke. Without them its like 2 beat writers talking about the Saints over a beer- not necessarily bad but not exactly sure thats the professional vibe you want to go for. Underhill and Triplett just don’t have the polish thats needed.
On a sidenote, I don’t know what happened between Underhill and Brooke but you could tell that Underhill wasn’t pleased. He didn’t thank her once or wish ger good luck for someone that was a vital part of the show- regardless of how she left thats kind of a bad look on Underhill’s part.

Not the biggest fan of Underhill but he literally said she elevated their video department and he wished her all the best lol

You’re right. I watched it again he did say that. Although I’m not quite sure what elevating the video dept means and he did wish her luck. That being said it was mentioned right before an advertisement break in the middle of the show- with no show of enthusiasm or a care. Again, thats just really strange considering this was someone who was on the show with them on a regular basis.

That was my entire point. They tried to be more video and more First Take sports talk which wasn’t what built the brand to begin with. It was good, unbiased analysis by Nick in addition to some podcast.
I don’t think video is their lane. Their lane is articles and podcasts, not a video talk show where everything is moderated. Brooke is perfect for that kind of thing. Nick and Mike are not.

I probably know more of what they were trying to do better than anyone, including you Les. I was a former sports writer myself. I know the shite is dying
But when I said what they were trying to do was completely different than what they’re trying to be now and what they were trying to be with Brooke. Underhill started this whole thing to kind of be a mini version of The Athletic, which is his lane. He excels in that. He does not excel in video. Brooke didn’t fit the version of NOF that they started out with but was the star of the video operation. Mike and Nick are terrible on video. That will probably tank the business more than losing Brooke

Right, but Underhill’s vision right now is multi media. They just started renting a new building with a studio. They are doing remotes at home and away games. He is actively adding video-based shows under his platform.
They need Brooke more then she needs them. Professional, attractive, knows ball. There aren’t a ton of these women in the market tho Maddy Hudak would qualify. But she is also going bigger places then NOF

You expect him to throw a parade for her when she unexpectedly dipped on them right before the senior bowl? He has a right to be annoyed.

When you work in that industry, professionalism and PR is key. Not this tit for tat BS. That shite won’t go unoticed when you’re trying to replace her. He can be annoyed all he wants but in public he needs to act like hes not.

I don't know. From what I've see, she kinda comes off awkward in a sense. Maybe she'll get better or maybe I just haven't seen enough.
