just watched draft day again, still a great movie, but i never knew how realistic they were trying to be with it.

the browns traded #7 and their 1st rounders for 3 years to get pick #1

then they traded their next 3 second rounders for #6

then traded #6 for their 3 first rounds back as well as a ST player thrown in

so when all the dust settles, browns got their original pick #7 back,
as well as getting pick #1 and a ST player for their next 3 years 2nd round picks.

or to simplify it, they traded 3 years of 2nd rounders to get the #1 pick plus a ST player

i dont know about values of next years or future years picks as far as draft trades go, so how well did they really do as far as value scores for those picks?

was the movie correct in how they made it out to be such a huge deal?

All I know is they got David Goddamn Putney because Costner wanted him.

The Jaguars did atrocious. The Browns did fine with trades in the long run but terrible with value of the picks considering they used the #1 pick on a mlb, that hours leading up to the draft wasn't guaranteed to even go in the top half of the first round. Then they got all their picks back but committed another sin by drafting a RB in the top 10.

Pancake eating motherfrickers are bad GMs...I mean, did the guy even know that Bo lied about the money?

I thought it was funny that they were chanting “Super Bowl!” at the end all because they got back their QB coming off an injury, a linebacker they picked first overall that wasn’t projected to go until mid first, a rookie running back and a punt returner.

Yeah that’s not realistic

So #6 could be gotten for 3 second round picks but then you trade it and get three first round picks back?

Its theoretically possible depending on who will be there at 6 and how late those other first rounders were projected to end up.

Yeah Chi McBride in Seattle has to get fired for not making a much cheaper trade directly with Jacksonville to get the 6th pick and Bo Callahan. Did he not think to call them?

Well he’s a pancake eating motherfricker, that’s why he didn’t call them.

thanks, that is what i was wondering about

but without knowing all the Xs & Os of draft values, its hard to tell

i kinda felt like they did ok but not great

i had no clue if pick #1 is even worth three 2nd rounders, but you also make a great point of who they picked with those picks

Did "shite Show Johnny" ever get his laptop replaced, with all the bells & whistles? He was the biggest loser of the day, behind Bo missing out on #1 draft $ & I guess PDiddy agent man losing his cut. But still - intern boy(ish) didn't deserve his whole life on that OG laptop to be smashed like that.

It’s an entertaining movie

But logically as a football movie

It’s bad like on par or worse than Little Giants or Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Phenomenon

They have draft value charts now that are fairly accurate in terms of being somewhat close

However just off any recent draft with a top tier QB available even with red flags because no one went to his Birthday party…you aren’t getting a top 10 pick with the no.1 QB on the board for anything less than multiple firsts unless that QB Ray Riced his GF in an elevator

It wanted to be Moneyball

It’s closer to being Air Bud for draft day
