Anything happening around the airport area of Charleston?

Got a short notice work deal that's going to have me in Charleston for a couple days. Plan on staying downtown night one. Night two I may stay near the airport due to an early flight out. Is there anywhere decent to stay, eat and drink near the airport? Or should I do both nights downtown? I haven't been to Charleston in several years. Tia

Both nights downtown. Easy decision

Yeah do both nights downtown. The area around CHS is pretty lame compared to downtown which is just like 15 mins or so away.

I live on the west edge of the peninsula overlooking the Ashley River and for an early flight I've gone from "just getting into the uber" to "at my gate waiting to board" in 25 minutes.
If your flight is before 9 you should be totally fine to stay downtown.
That said if you don't want to chance it, there's some really good spots in the Park Circle area (Jackrabbit filly, for example) but you're not going to get the Charleston experience up there.
