So is this method going to be considered ‘inhumane’??

These are people who hate the death penalty period. It wouldn't matter if it was a cattle gun to the brain causing instant death, it would be cruel and unusual punishment and suffering to them.

So some “reverend” who’s a death penalty opponent gave us an unbiased report of what happened

Not just some reverend. The convict’s “spiritual advisor.”

But, witnesses said Smith appeared conscious for several minutes, shaking and writhing on the gurney.

dont underestimate the stupidity of the common person. Appearance means nothing. Euthanasia by inhalation methods leads to unconsciousness extremely quickly. The body may have physiological response after consciousness is lost but they are not feeling or perceiving anything.

I wish "Reverend" Hood could have been able to provide us with a description of how this POS' victim died.

In my opinion, you murder someone, you should die a death 10x worse.

Sennett was the wife of Church of Christ pastor Charles Sennett, who allegedly paid Smith and another man $1,000 to kill his spouse.

Did the pastor and the other guy get the death penalty? They deserve it just as much

Nah, he offed himself before he was arrested.

Pastor offed himself shortly after the murder.

The second assailant died in prison in 2020.

Mostly surprised it took so long.

Hypoxia you should go to sleep with the quickness, not struggle like asphyxiation.

Sounds like Alabama managed to frick up the means and methods.
or the "reporters" are lying to sensationalize the "horror" that was committed to this murdering POS.

They should have just put him in a room and ran a generator. Pretty sure carbon monoxide would do the trick.

This is how a lot of public animal shelters euthanize dogs and cats.

A box and a Briggs.

Nobody lives 22 minutes holding their breath and then breathing pure nitrogen. The reverend is an obvious liar.
Maybe he should have come up with something like 4-5 minutes.

The 22 minute figure probably included the setup time (strapping in place, etc.), him hiding his breath for a minute or so, and the extra time they let the process continue after he was actually dead. You know they made sure he was damn well deceased before they stopped giving him the nitrogen.

It would be cheaper in Montgomery. There is a Lynching Museum not far from the Governor's Mansion. I bet they have a rope and a tree limb. They could use the execution as a draw to pay for the museum .....

Yeah man letting big government hide the details experimental death machines and use them on its own citizens is something to be proud of.

Just give them a choice.

Hanging
Firing Squad
Wood Chipper (this should be only used on pedophiles)
20# Sledgehammer to Forehead
Boiled Alive
Tar and Feathering
Dropped into a vat of acid
or Nitrogen gas
