I keep seeing Dune is a “trilogy” so how did we wind up with 6 Frank books and the two in which Brian finished it up?

I'm not really sure. I'm guessing they mean either the Villeneuve films, which will be a trilogy of sorts. Or they mean the first three book which really do tie into each other. The 4th book, while still having some of the same characters, is wildly different from the first three.

You really could read just the first three books and have a satisfying ending to the series. But man, the fourth book is just so damn good.

I really hope yall get to at least God Emperor, because I'd love to discuss in detail on here.

I'm sure you're aware, but others may not be; the second Villeneuve film is really the 2nd half of the 1st Dune novel.

Next, Villeneuve plans to film Dune Messiah. I'm not sure which route he's going with it, but it seems to me like he should do like the Sci Fi Channel did and have Dune Messiah and Children of Dune be one movie.

I hated God Emperor. Took a lot for me to finish it.

Messiah is so short it makes sense to roll it into Children of Dune.
