Well of course it was, but as a team leader in a close game against the number 1 team playing down the stretch you have to play smarter than that.
I’m sure it’s another learning lesson.
Other than that, the team controlled most of the game and just came down to them being a little better at this point in the season.
Should be a lot of motivation moving forward.
This surely can be a Final 4 team.

I mean not expecting them to be conditioned like Brandon Bass — she played a ton without much of a break.

I agree with that. But this is not the first time noticing this and it is not unique to Angel or LSU. A lot of these WBB players are not in full court shape.

Of course the standard of athleticism is not equivalent from MBB to WBB. But again, played a lot of minutes without much of a break.

Girls are not boys & the long-term earning potential of WNBA probably doesn’t invite the same level of personal investment from players.

If the sport continues to trend up, the level of play will likely continue climbing with it (has been going on for decades).

I spoke to this a bit in another thread, but… remember back when college sports were actually college sports & a lot of us used to be able to give a laundry list of reasons we preferred the NCAA to the pros?

One thing that was never on that list was college players being better athletes than pro players.

I have really been enjoying Kim’s teams & the atmosphere around WBB in general. Refreshing to follow a program where your superstars can realistically return for a 4th year & where every player on your rosters’ top priority is winning here rather than just raising personal stock.

3 dumb fouls. Sometimes her antics hurt her and the team.

That's a bad take. Angel played exceptionally hard and aggressive last night. When you play that way and are fighting for position or for the ball, you're going to end up in positions where you might get called for a foul. That's just the way it is. And if she wasn't fighting for position or for the ball, people would call her out for playing soft and lazy. The only bad foul was the last one, when she was fatigued and took an ill-advised swipe. I think every other foul she was actively engaged against another player... and at least a couple were questionable calls.

Further, the only "antics" I saw were her being energetic and pumping up her teammates every chance she got. She played hard last night. Your post seems like you didn't watch or have a weird agenda.
