Hunter Dean got out rebounded for the winning bucket for UGA last night

Hunter Dean got held down from behind for the rebound. It was an extremely blatant foul that wasn't called.

After watching Dean make a pathetic effort for the crucial rebound late, I expected to see threads playing him less, not more.

Dean’s effort on the glass this year has been good. He’s not a great athlete so his rebounding percentages aren’t great, but they are better than Baker’s.

It's true that Dean's man scored the winning bucket last night. But I am not sure that things would have been different if Baker had been playing at that time.

It would have been a slam dunk put back because Baker cant box out for shite, at least Dean got his body on the big man.

Baker is soft as baby ?? and does not scare anyone inside, at least Dean give better effort, Baker is invisible most of the game if he misses a few shots

Cool and Wright

I know he only really gives you scoring from the peremiter, but ward is pretty reliable.

Baker appears to outmatched athletically at this level. Because of this I get the impression that he tries to rush into moves too much to compensate and ends up turning it over. His skill set and athleticism is much better suited for mid major level. He has flashes of solid play but then rushes too much at times and hurts the team by trying to do too much

Our team clearly has 2 good offensive players who should be handling the brunt of the workload from night to night in Cook and Wright. When they're both guaranteed to be on the floor, why not play Dean who is the stereotypical low usage big man who doesn't ever need the ball in his hands? Instead we are throwing the ball into Baker even without a size advantage, and it's not like Baker is a strong passer out of the post to hit our shooters. But when one of Wright and Cook hit the bench, having Baker in could be good! Especially if he's matched up against a backup big where it's more likely his post-ups will turn into good possessions. Having a lineup of Hannibal, Mwani, Fountain, and Dean is just not tenable. Puts way too much pressure/responsibility on Cook or Wright as the lone credible scorer.

I haven’t watched a game all year, but you’ve sold me. I agree.

Bumping a thread to say “I told you so” when you were nowhere to be found at the beginning is lame.

But baker played a lot better this game, especially offensively. Glad to see it and I hope he continues to make me look like a fool.

This petty shite, like these bumps, is what makes the rant awesome!

I’ll start heating up the crow, but I’m not eating it just yet. He played well today, but there was no bump to this thread after the Alabama game for a reason…

So you reserve the right to have an off night (your dumbass original thread), but also want to have the ability to criticize others without having your opinion questioned.

Nah! I think he means he reserves the right to continue, once we play a team with a pulse.
It will all be clearer at the end of the season.

I might be missing something but I thought you guys kept commenting about how awesome Baker was playing today. I didn't get to watch the game because I just got off work.

He had a good offensive day. Which is why the thread was bumped. One of the posters in this thread hit the nail on the head saying baker has plenty of talent but no athletic ability to utilize it at this level.

Hunter Dean has still outplayed him in more games this season. I’m happy baker had a good game but all tCasuals coming to this thread to say I told you so probably didn’t see bakers shite play for the majority of the year.

Dean isn’t much better, but he’s better at defending and rebounding. Baker is a lot better offensively but he only had 2 rebounds today. He consistently gets out rebounded by players who are almost a foot shorter than him

It’s fine to question the opinion…several people in this thread did just that when it was originally posted. Just funny how it happens when Baker has a great game but I didn’t bump the thread when he had a mediocre offensive game while anchoring a defense that gave up triple digits to Alabama. One game isn’t going to tell the full story, good or bad.

In 6 of the first 8 SEC games Dean has been the better option. Not today.

Baker is not going to have many games like he had today. But he earned the benefit of the doubt going into next game. But given Tennessee is the second best defensive team in the nation, McMahon can’t be reluctant to make a change if it is quickly evident Baker is getting swallowed up.

The good news is if he can shoot it close to what he did today it completely opens up the offense
