Three Kansas City Chiefs fans were found frozen to death in the backyard of their friend’s home, where they had gathered to watch a game — but the homeowner is insisting that he had “no knowledge” that their bodies had possibly been there for two days.
The bodies of David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were found on the evening of Jan. 9 after the fiancée of one of the men requested a welfare check, Kansas City police told Fox Digital.
One man’s body was found on the back porch of the NW 83rd Terrace home, while the other two were discovered in the backyard.
But the homeowner had “no knowledge” that his friends were freezing to death on his property after they had watched Kansas City take on the LA Chargers in the last game of NFL regular season play on Jan. 7, police said.
“First and foremost, this case is 100% NOT being investigated as a homicide,” Kansas City Police Capt. Jake Becchina said.
“There have not been any arrests [or] charges, and no one is in custody. There are no specific threats or concerns for the surrounding community at this time,” Becchina added.
“The resident at the house was cooperative with detectives the day the deceased were discovered.”
Kansas City Police did not immediately respond to a request from The Post about why the men may have declined to seek shelter, or if they were under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Kansas City Police Department announced that the men’s bodies were discovered at 9:51 p.m. Jan. 9 after one man’s fiancée requested a welfare check.
Temperatures on Jan 7th and 8th mostly stayed in the low 30s, before plummeting into the teens on the afternoon of the 9th, according to Weather Underground.
Family and friends of the victims took to social media to lambast the man who invited his friends to watch the game.
“This man was inside his home alive while my friends were dead in his yard for lord knows how long,” Kaylee La Tier wrote in a Facebook post earlier this month.
“They were all hanging out since after the game Sunday. He KNEW people were looking for them. He read messages of people searching for him on Tuesday.”
They had all gathered at a friend’s house to watch the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Los Angeles Chargers on the night of Jan. 7.
“My husband banged on his door for 20 [minutes],” La Tier continued. “My friend banged on his door and then busted a window and yelled and announced her presence while she’s inside and still nothing from him? Then the cops come 10 [minutes] later and he comes out nonchalant in his boxers with an empty wine glass in hand??! Nothing is adding up. Dave, Clay and Ricky need and deserve justice.”
John Picerno, an attorney representing the homeowner, said his client had no idea his friends were dead until police knocked on his door.
Picerno said his client was sleeping with headphones on next to a loud fan when people came looking for his friends and didn’t see a message from one of their wives until after police contacted him.
The man also did not think it was “unusual for his friends to have left their cars there overnight,” according to the outlet.

Most likely died of hypothermia, well before they froze

This is extremely strange, im guessing drugs were involved and they passed out.

I'm sorry, but this isn't making sense. They gathered at a friend's house to watch a football game. Did the friend lock them out of the house? They could never go inside to pee, get some more beer, to warm up, etc?
Even if the friend locked them out of the house while he fell asleep maybe, why don't they ever get back in their cars to warm up?
The homeowner never once thought to say bye to his friends? He had company over, he never once went to clean up the mess made? He never once went outside to see their cars still parked there?

Drugs had to have been involved. There's no way in hell that they couldn't know how cold it was unless they were on something.

Not really. Everyone wants to blame everyone else.
Drugs and alcohol weren't forced down their throats.
They passed out, got locked out...dude inside was probably passed for days too.

They found them two days later. That dude was so drugged out that he didn’t notice or consider that his friends left their cars there for two days. Not just overnight. That’s severe drug abusers habits

This is one of the craziest situations I've heard of.
The only thing that makes sense is that they were so intoxicated that they passed out and froze or they overdoses before that.

Yeah I'm betting a bad batch of fentanyl got all of them while outside watching the game

This is about all you need to know. She's saying nothing is adding up, but just from this description it all adds up. Whatever the homeowner was on, he was incapacitated to a point that he didn't hear someone banging on his door for 10 min, then didn't hear someone break into his house, then greets the police with an empty wine glass. Sounds like she's confusing nanchalant with incoherence.

Exclude the obvious misdirection from the cops statement. This wasn’t 3 guys passing out, something nefarious happened here.

This story (for many reasons) doesn’t make sense.
But the main one is, you can’t get “locked out” if you’re in the backyard. Just go to the front yard, get in your car or go home. Or call your fiancé or whoever it is that came looking for you.
They had to have passed out and died overnight outside. Just odd that ALL 3 would have. That’s what makes it interesting. Statistically speaking even if they were piss drunk at least ONE of them would have been like frick it’s cold let’s go home or not died. That’s why it’s weird imo. The fact that ALL THREE died is a little sketch

ok so the game was on january 7th.
they were found on the NIGHT of january 9th.
what in the frick happened on january 8th? NOBODY went over to this house where FOUR people were not responding to anything? nobody checked outside for 48 hours? this fiance requested a wellness check after her guy did not respond for 48 fricking hours? and they presumably knew where they were?
this makes zero sense. i mean the bad batch of drugs things makes perfect sense but nobody's actions make any sense
