Co-ed vs. Boys/Girls Only Schools Discussion

Interested to hear from anyone that attended 1 school option then the other in their 6-12th grades time frame.
Likes? Dislikes? Challenges/Advantages?
For the life of me = I cannot fathom going to school all those years & not getting to talk to girls before/during/between/after classes.
Plus, I was so busy playing school team sports: I really don't know how many times I'd even be in places to talk to/meet girls other than church.

It's funny because once you get to Lafayette and west, the Catholic schools are coed. It's like only southeast LA won't let it go.

As a public school educated pleb, I support the segregatedCatholic school model

If you didn't have to deal with standing up in the middle of class with a boner around a hot girl then I'm not sure you properly survived middle and high school, imo.
I went to 3 high schools and all were coed. I really can't imagine not having girls there before school, between classes, lunch, after, etc.

That's why you had to join choir/band. Only co-ed classes (at the time) at Catholic.
Shortly after I left they added a psychology class that was taught at St. Joe's. I heard it sucked but everyone wanted to take it because "Look, GIRLS!"

I definitely fall in the single sex high school and even middle school model, especially now that the prevailing educational theory is that boys and girls are not only exactly the same. Furthermore, the assumption that girls need to be encouraged and propped up while boys need to “take a back seat now due to patriarchy” is absolutely crushing the males.
If you have a boy, it’s especially important that they go to a school that challenges them in a masculine way, and teaches them how to channel aggression and to be respectful of each other and especially of women.

What kind of queer shite is this? Boy only schools? That's just as bad as the weirdos that homeschool.

My catholic high school was coed, I enjoyed the experience and met my wife
My kids attended and one still does at an all boys. They have loved the experience much more than the coed primary school days.

20 years ago I can see the benefit. Now a days, I have a hard time seeing an all boys school as being any more "masculine" and challenging to create men. I know that's what they push, I just don't see it.

Went to all girl school. Loved it. Social life didn’t suffer.

It’s not about masculinity. Boys in general are better students in grades and behavior when they are separated..

I went to an all boys school in HS, and it was fine and honestly pretty fun. That being said, I do wish sometimes that I had gone elsewhere and went to a co-ed school. Just feels like it would've been a better time.
