Looking for the boards thoughts on these two.

Upgrading from OnePlus 8 pro.

I'm a decently heavy user between spotify, chrome, YouTube, and Instagram.
Battery life is important to me and I've heard mixed reviews on the pixels for years and Samsung always is right at the top of battery life, but has anyone seen improvement on the pixel 8 pro?

With young kids, the camera has become very important as well. It seems like both phones have their fair share of AI with the cameras.
The blur and best take features of the pixel almost sell me on the phone alone, but still have concerns on battery life and day to day charging.
Any word if samsung will have any updates to implement something like best take?

My pixel 8 pro might have worse battery life than my 2 year old Pixel 6 it just replaced. At least it doesn't feel any better.

I just pre-order the S24 Ultra. Kinda sad actually. My S20 Note Ultra has need by far, the best phone I've ever had.

Maybe, it's just the old man in my head talking, but this obsession with improving camera tech is getting a bit carried away.

Pick either phone. The camera on those phones is miles better than anything anyone practically needs. Our old photo albums were filled with polaroids for crying out loud.

It never ceases to amaze me how awesome these smartphones are. I mean, I guess it's great that we can stare at digital pictures and pick nits over which camera is 1% better, but any modern smartphone is producing simply amazing pictures.

FWIW: The Pixels seem to have the best software features for pictures.

Pixel quality control is terrible. There's articles about charging ports failing one month in.

hate hearing about the issues with the 8, and my 6 has been fantastic other than a few Bluetooth issues that I am not totally sure are the phone's fault. I guess I will wait for 9.

The pixel version of android is way better than samsung but samsung gives you better battery life.

Now that both are going to do 7 years of updates, I'd probably go with samsung just for battery life.

I like my Pixel 4a and 7a but the battery life is just so underwhelming. I do not use my phone at all and idle drain is just more than I like.

Spectrum has a smoking deal on trading in towards the S24. I believe it's advertised as the trade in value of your phone plus $700.

Basically, I was just now able to trade in my S22 Ultra for the S24 Ultra (preorder) for $165.

This promotion ends tomorrow, 1/30.

Ultras are the Cadillacs of Android phones, pixel has the most Googley feaures. I like Samsungs native apps better than any of them, I have been on iPhone for 2 years now after being Android since it came out and I am sooooo ready to go back. Soon as they implement RCS in Apple im going back probably to an Ultra. Samsung camera in the 24 has out performed the IPhone in a few you tubers camera tests. But if you want the most Google like experience get an Pro, if you want the best experience overalll get a Ultra
