Big Surprise to me. I figured it would be a coastal city.

The 2026 World Cup final is set to be held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, with FIFA picking the venue ahead of the MetLife Stadium in New York.
According to The Sun, FIFA will confirm the choice later this week and soccer's governing body is also set to base itself in Texas for the tournament in 2026.

No surprise at all. Massive stadium. Central location. Soccer community. Jerry Jones bought the final.

We got some anti-Texas people in here
1. There are no iconic stadiums in the USA, large enough for World Cup. Toss out your college stadiums, while large enough are not normally located in a major city with infrastructure to support visitors. The most iconic (baseball) are obviously not an option. There are zero iconic NFL stadiums, there are just new stadiums.
2. DFW is major metro environment that can handle the extra people. Direct flights to overseas and central to entire USA.
3. North Texas is the heart of youth soccer in the USA. California and South Florida can rival it, but NTX is the heart. I could have seen them having it in CA or FL, but NY/NJ should never have been an option.
