Someone on Saints Report suggested moving Penning to DT because of lack of footwork and slow hands to play on the OL. I’m intrigued. Thoughts?

Worked in Madden so that means it would certainly work in real life.

I mean i just don't understand the rational that you have slow hands and feet so that in turn would make you a better DT vs a LG.

Penning had a 9.96 RAS score. Are we sure it was slow feet that was the problem? I think he got into it with a coach or something

ETA... more I think about it, it was probably a fight or argument with Carr

Should never have been drafted by the Saints.

Penning’s hands and feet are nowhere near slow, his problems are purely technique based. When Zach Strief coached him up the improvement in his game was telling. Especially in the run game. I think losing Strief was a knock in Penning’s confidence, He’s not injured going into this offseason, so hopefully he will be able to hammer out the kinks and put his top level athleticism on display next season.
