I’m too now interested in the rare fruit seeds from Baker. I see you have Hone Depot pots. Any word on another sale? Seems like it’s right before Mother’s Day each year.

Cucumbers are climbing!

Mine refuse to. I told them, hey dickheads you have tendrils and a trellis; use them. I weaved some of the vines through, so hopefully they'll get the hint.

Same here. They paint well. I had the kids paint ours with those little acrylic paints a couple years ago for Mother’s Day.

home depot link

They've been out of stock for a while now. Hopefully they start carrying them again. I have a couple of heirloom roses, wild prairie rose, shrimp plant, hibiscus, etc planted in mine. They were a steal at $5.

Last review was in September. Hopefully they didn’t stop making them.

Someone gave us some pumpkins. I kept one, but is this really four and needs to be thinned out? Or do pumpkin plants have multiple vines?

Before the butternut really gets going, should I angle this gate panel slightly and prop it up so the squash can hang below it? It’s about 7 ft from ground level to the top.

Tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, beans, and okra are all flourishing with the rain and warmer temperatures over the last 10 days. I have had enough of the strong winds, though.

We’ll be picking more potatoes soon. Onions and garlic shouldn’t be much longer. Still getting a few more carrots and the last of the beets. Romaine has done well.

We planted a grape plant and three varieties of raspberries this year. They are looking good so far.

We picked several handfuls of blueberries this morning from the earliest ripening Biloxi variety.

Dug up the first potato plant, found this guy

Almost a pound on its own. Pulled 2 1/2 lbs. off. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.

I’ve begun breeding cantaloupe, I’ll post pics of said breeding in a few days

Other than my own honeybees, which are flying right over my garden , same. Bumble bees are typically the work horses in my garden and I haven’t seen any yet.

However, I’m hoping that changes soon. The flag has been raised! And more to come soon.

Still picking a crap ton of blackberries.

ETA: I noticed my first tomato in the breaker stage yesterday. A San Marzano. I guess that means the flood gates are about to open.

How have you managed your romas in the past? I read don't worry with pruning or suckering. But it turns them into little dense bushes. And how long do they dump fruit? I've not messed with determinates until this year.

man those look awesome. What variety are they?

I'm on my third year with Kiowa from Ison's. I'm considering digging them up and replacing with another variety. The berries are plentiful but they're not any bigger than wild berries. Not even as big as a dewberry. I prune and fertilize them. Not sure why they're so damn tiny.

I only really prune branches that are touching the ground. And if they get a little too dense I'll prune some of the interior branches to allow for some air flow. That's about it. They'll make fruit until it gets consistently over 90 degrees.

Same, just planted a raised bed into all flowers for pollinators. Had butterflies within an hour. Hopefully it attracts some bees too. Lost most of my ligustrums in drought last year, they really brought in the bees.

i havne't seen a single bee this year.
When my large rose bud tree bloomed, which was beautiful, back in Februrary there were hundreds of bees. Literally hundreds of them.

Yesterday i saw a bumble bee, and that's the first bumble bee or bee i've seen since i planted vegetables this year, and i saw the bumble bee again today.

I've had tons of dragon flies hanging out in my garden. I have to assume this is a good and bad thing, as they must be eating bugs on the plants.
