Ends up finishing 9th overall, 17 TD 1 Int. Saints were one of the best red zone teams down the stretch. Maybe not enough to change the narrative on his red zone performance as a player, but at least he made strides.

Also finished the season with 25 TDs/8 Ints and missed the second half in at least two games.

Carr isn’t great, but he also isn’t the problem.

He (and the offense as a whole) were the problem for much of the year. They finished better, though.

The way the offense took off when MT went out is telling.

The way the offense took off when PC finalky started using motion and play action……is telling.

Yes Carr needed to build that rapport with the guys (and he did), but the bigger issue was PC’s playcalling and MT being a cancer. MT is close to Olave, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the one in Olave’s ear when Olave was having behavioral issues

you just knew, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in September, that 2nd half collapse in GB would bite your square in the sack.

Mike was routinely getting open and Derek acted like he was a fan in the stands and never went to him. But yeah, him going out helped the offense a ton.

Maybe, just maybe, yall all forgot the fricking games where we're down 3 plus scores in the late 3rd and 4th and Derek Carr accumulates all his fricking numbers.

No one is fooling me, certainly not these empty stats he accrued when games were basically lost before he goes off.

He was 9 receptions behind Olave when he got hurt so this is false

The Rams game is literally the only loss that fits this criteria

Yeah not the lions game, or the jags game. I guess you skipped those. I could go on.

Yeah derek still missed him. That's a real thing. Go watch any video of our games with Mike in them. Tons of guys on YouTube pointing out how open Mike is and Derek going to his checkdown first.

Thanks for proving me right. You didn't watch the games.

The red zone issues are more of a reflection of PC and his play design/calling, than Carr.

Everyone was aware of this issue

It was a weak spot for him in Oakland

You can’t take any Carr stats at face value. There is a lot of nuance in his numbers. Yes he got “better” as it was impossible to go anywhere but up

Complied in blowouts (both wins and losses)
He turned it “on” once the pressures of the season had faded and we were below .500
As a 9 figure QB, you need to put your team on your back and win some games

All that he did is fine if he’s making baker mayfield money

The Saints had the ball down 6 to start the 4th quarter. They fell behind early but his yardage was far from garbage time

jags game

Once again, the Saints were a routine dropped ball in the endzone from tying it up in the 4th.

You don't know the definition of garbage time stats

I attended every home game and traveled to 3 road games. You just don't know what you are talking about. Stick to the shitty Pels

Carr played in line with QB’s who are paid $5-10mm more than him.

Baker was a one and done contract

We asked Carr to be an above average QB and that is what he did. He is not a stud, but he is good enough to win games.

And THAT'S whose playing Dallas instead of us :( Who knows how things would've worked out; but if we hold on against GB, the whole season may have been different.

According to "Jameis Fan Logic", you need to turn in your Saints fan card and go root for the Panthers.

This.

Internet posters hate everyone. I remember people bitching about Brees and CSP ten years ago. Everyone is a hater, it’s what fans do. But if we are objective, Carr is a middle of the road QB. Not great, but good enough.

This team lacks leadership and offensive ingenuity.

OK, this is funny to me. Carr left the Det game due to injury in the beginning of the 4thQ. At that point it was a 12 point game, so not 3+ scores. Hell, late in the 3rd Hill ran in a TD to make it a 3 point game.

And if you actually look at his game splits he threw 44.5% of his attempts in the 2nd half (22.3% in the 4thQ), 48.2% of his yards (21.9% in 4Q), and 48% of his TDs (32% in 4Q).
