Agree, Perkins is a QB killer and we have him in coverage… I just don’t get what’s going on, let him eat….Speed up the other team till they make mistakes, have to get rid of the ball early; I think this is where we are heading, but this year was tough to watch on Defense

IMO, this Perkins deal is a myth in the games. Did he drop back in coverage quite a bit...yes, he did. But he was on the LOS a lot too. The difference is in 2022, he came on midseason in PT and teams were unprepared once he played more and therefore was so effective. This past season, the opponents accounted for him with a blocker. As I've said before, you force Perkins to go through a blocker and he isn't strong enough to bull rush. He got his sacks running around people...not going through them. IMO, this "misuse of Perkins" has been blown way out of proportion.

Instead of worrying about Perkins lack of sacks how about addressing the REAL problem of lack of sacks. Only Swinson could be considered a pass rushing threat along the LOS...not S Jones, not the Texas transfer, etc. As far as up the middle, Jordan Jefferson was the bull rusher there, not an injured Wingo and not a still recovering from ACL surgery M Smith.
