30a from Blue Mountain to Dune Allen got it pretty bad.

Ooh.
I've stayed there many times.
Mist of those beach homes there look fragile.

The older ones yes, the newer ones built to S FL code can handle pretty much anything up to an EF3.

Less rain here in Baton Rouge than a summer rainstorm. Very few limbs on the ground as well. Nothing burger as usual when models are involved.

Hell, if you didn’t get much rain then that means the whole event was nothing. Who cares about all of the places hit by tornadoes overnight and this morning?

The pattern we will be getting into next week probably favors some form of winter weather for parts of the southeast. Still too early to know for sure, of course. It definitely looks like some bitterly cold air will be moving in.

This is the temperature anomaly from the GFS this morning for next Tuesday. That’s a very cold look.

I’d pretty much avoid driving between PCB and the Destin Pass up to Ponce De Leon and over to Crestview right now.

Damage, power lines down and debris all over the place.

No telling how many actual tornadoes were involved but it went crazy from 3:30 to 7:15 in the Panhandle.

That sounds like a summer thunderstorm, the only time we've had hail here.

That's the campground I referenced above, less than a mile from me as the crow flies. Eye of Michael passed right over us and now this :(

Did a quick survey of the immediate neighborhood and at least two homes with major damage. Sucks.

Still on here in Northeast Cola.

Couple limbs fell in front yard already though.

You have enough tarps for your place?

If not I’d run to Home Depot/Walmart asap.

Worst case I have a few I could bring up your way if needed.

My understanding is that if you call your insurer they will often send a crew to tarp it for free asap to avoid more mold and structural issues before the siding/roof can be replaced.

Thanks tide, our house is good, and we will get back out there and take care of the neighbors soon as the rain stops. Mostly debris cleanup, some chainsaw work.
Elderly lady across the street didn't have quality repairs done after Michael and it shows ... her home will now probably be condemned.not much we can do there.
Another lost a whole chunk of roof. Reminds me of that new skylight we had after Michael lol. They have a 1yr old baby, they are ok but we need to get that roof tarped today.

Good deal, glad you made it through and happy to hear you live somewhere that people help each other.

You can’t just be grateful that you didn’t lose all of your shite?
There are a lot of people this morning that had their stuff wrecked.
Maybe you’ll be blessed next time with a lot of damage so that you won’t have to come here and complain.

I have zero confidence in weather models. Analog forecasters are not model reporters.

You understand that the analogs are rarely "right", and that no two events are alike, correct? Or, are you just happy to spout bullshite?
