The squall line finally ramped up once it got towards far east Louisiana. Forward motion improved and the orientation was a lot better.

Someone start a winter weather thread for early next week if 12z keeps the trend. GFS and EURO want to bring the pain.

Less rain here in Baton Rouge than a summer rainstorm. Very few limbs on the ground as well. Nothing burger as usual when models are involved.

There’s like a half dozen tornadoes in NW Florida.

The weather people got the impacts right. Not everyone in a watch area will receive the impacts. But people in the watch area did.

Maybe you should just be thankful your house didn’t get flattened like a lot of people did overnight in the Panhandle.

So, you’re upset that you were spared. It’s like evacuating ahead of a hurricane and finding your place unharmed when you return. I suppose you’d be upset about that too.

Entire Neighborhoods Wiped Out in PCB

East side of PCB is really bad haven’t heard about damage from the nasty one that went through the west end of 30A and tracked through Dothan.

I have zero confidence in weather models. Analog forecasters are not model reporters.

Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. A piece of a dead pine tree broke off and hit the power lines in my yard late last night.

How is it “moving the cone”? There have been tornadoes, hail, 100+ mph gusts, downed trees and power outages within the original area of concern. Do you insufferable fricks need widespread death in every single city under a watch to be satisfied and call the weather reporting accurate?

The 6:30a tornado passed by way too close for comfort here. Ripped siding off the house, lots of neighborhood cleanup needed but we are ok. However I'm hearing it completely destroyed a campground just a mile up the pond. Fatalities expected.

Hence the word “model”. It requires a person to insert additional intelligence to gain a better picture of the situation. A “tool” so to speak.

Nobody has to die. Just need some empty schools taken out so we can go “Thank god for the meteorologists!”

Too close. Glad your people are ok.

30a from Blue Mountain to Dune Allen got it pretty bad. Gas station is a total loss, power lines down and internet offline just from the Facebook pictures I’ve seen. 110 mph winds just down from the elementary school where they would’ve been dropping kids off this morning when the second rd went through.

Grayton Beach is without power along with large stretches north of 98 between PCB and Miramar.
