Imagine being so desperate that you offer a rising true sophomore who played sparingly the starting LT position.

We not a contender. Too many holes on defense I don’t care who he hires as DC

offensive staff will work on Nuss throughout the offseason and have him ready to minimize his mistakes and get more accurate while the defense actually plays defense.
I think he will be fine. He completed at a high percentage in the bowl game and if Thomas doesn’t stop on his route he doesn’t have an INT. A lot of his throws were tough throws too not to wide open receivers.

Chevis could walk in the door and probably fix the DB issues

It doesn’t matter where LSU starts the season. With that schedule, if they take care of business, they can lose a game or two and still make the top-12 at the end.

We ain’t gonna be too 5 to start the season. With that said I agree there is a MUCH stronger chance of ending the season in the top 5 then there was at 2 pm yesterday

Completely depends on who is hired at each opening. They all need to be homeruns. The f that happens, yes, could be great…. But if he hires someone like Diaco as DC then not so much

Don’t pump too much sunshine just yet. A lot of pieces need to come together in the off season.

No we will not be preseason top 5.

Again specially with new coordinators, and losing almost all of our playmakers on offense.

Plus the preseason too 5 is already set. In some order it will be

Bama
Georgia
Michigan
Ohio State
Texas

Then Ole Miss will be ahead of us

And Washington may crack preseason top 5 and no worse than 7 or 8.

Did people really think we would keep House next season? It’s nice to see it become official, but this has been obvious for a while & Kelly has alluded to as much in his press conferences

Anyone paying attention knew that but then the Rant wouldn’t have any hypothetical to melt over.

we're going to be a contender.

It's possible, but we need a ton of work on the D-line and in the secondary. With decent coaching, I think Perkins, Weeks, etc., will be fine at LB. We'll have to see about the talent we have at those other positions.

Also, we have a lot of offensive talent to have a really good offense, but Nuss isn't guaranteed to have a clean pocket like he had for most of the Wisconsin game, so we'll have to see what that looks like because I do think he will need to run some instead of always throwing it. Next year will definitely be interesting though.

Some of yall need to pump the breaks. The offense will be legit but the defense still has a long way to go even with an elite new DC. You don’t go from the worst D in lsu history to elite in 1 year. We still have no talent at CB are pretty underwhelming on the D line.

I hope I'm wrong and you are right but I think LSU is 5 new names on defense that we don't even know yet, from being a contender next year. Two years from now, possibly, but we are in a deep deep hole on Defense.

I'll lay the rest of my career earnings on the line that in no way will we be top 5 to begin the year. It doesn't even require explanation.

Bama
Texas
Georgia
Michigan
Ole Miss
Oregon
Ohio State
Washington
Florida State

Will all be ranked ahead of LSU to start the year. Thats just off the top of my head. LSU should be in the 15-18 range. With the correct hires, we should have a solid season and make the playoffs. Anything can happen at that point.

"Going to be a contender"

The really talented defensive players have already tranferred.. I still say another 2-3 years.

LSU will not be top 5.

Not when you have Bama, UGA, Ole Miss, and Texas just from our conference alone.

Add Michigan, Washington, Oregon, Ohio State, and Clemson (you watch), and we'll be lucky to be top 10.

I can definitely see us start at #12.

I think that's fair. I'd be happy in the 11-16 range. It doesn't really matter, though, as I think that there is going to be some broken hearts and tough sledding with conference realignment. I've always felt that an angry LSU team that feels disrespected is more fun to follow. They could start out if the top 25, handle that schedule and still end up in the top 5. That holds true for the top 10 with two quality games that result in losses.
