re: What separates Harlem Berry from Caden Durham?

I've seen Berry play many times. He's fun to watch, especially against weak competition, but very unpolished. The athleticism and speed are way above average. I just truly believe he will need work when he gets here. Not his fault at all, and he will have good backs around him to keep him from being thrust into the fire too soon.

Durham is everything Berry is, but more polished but he's also considerably older and played against better comp. He will be quicker to plug and play. I believe the floor for both is really high, but the ceiling for Berry is higher. They could actually be great for each other, and not have either take too much of a beating.

James Simon can freaking tote it, too.

All 3 have similarities but enough differences in build, running style, and skills to work well together.

Guice, Berry, and Simon are all longer. Dunham is more compact like Clyde. I think once Berry and Simon are done filling out, we'll know more about comps. Simon may end up being a moose.

ETA: I don't disagree with Guice and Durham having similar running styles. They're just not built alike at all.

I don't know, but I'm getting Fournette/Guice vibes. Actually, I guess Bush/White although neither fills the White role and neither of them quite have the size.

and ran the fastest weight-adjusted 40 time at the combine, ever. His speed score is literally "generational".

4.51 at 240lbs lol.

He has burst, vision, and some power. Just has an overall natural feel for the position. Which leads to long runs and not getting caught from behind.

They don’t skin a cat the same, but the outcomes are alike.

I'm high on Sheppard as well. I thought he was one of the best players in the state during the playoffs. We should sign him as an athlete and figure out where to put him once he gets on campus. He'd have to bulk up a bit to play RB. Same with Berry.

That’s why the recruiting rankings can be a bit fickle. Reality is that both Caden and Harlem are sure fire, elite elite prospects and we’re fortunate to get both of them.

Just watching the Duncanville state championship game, I was blown away by Durhams speed. When he really kicked it in to turn the corner, or when he got into the open field, it was like everyone else was running in the mud. He was that much faster than anyone on the field….that was on the other team anyway. Moore is fast as shite.

I haven’t seen Berry play. I want to watch a game so I can see it for myself in the flow of said game. It’s better than being fed highlight reels.
