to LSU's collective instead

Are collectives even allowed? You still cannot outright pay a kid to come to your school. They can sell their NIL, but cannot be given cash inducements to attend a particular university.

A "collective" to me seems like a pool of money used to pay players to attend your school, which by NCAA rules, is still a no-no.

according to some rantards, we’re in poverty and can’t compete with the Texas’ and Miami’s of the world so time to start begging

maybe Shaq for a generous donation to Bayou Traditions? Maybe Burrow can cut a tiny piece of his 275m contract?

Collectives are just that in reality, but they accomplish this by acting as a clearing house for NIL opportunities which can simply be autograph signing sessions. They are independent of the school, technically. And unlike TAF, they are not involved in things like paying coaches and ticket sales.

At least that is my understanding, there are probably people here who can better explain it than I can.
