Too many people mistake not playing the game for not being able to play the game.

We've beat out a lot of schools for a lot of players. Ones that are known to break bank such as Georgia, Texas A&M, Texas, etc.

It seems to me that LSU has a very deliberate method on how they are proceeding. At the end of the day, you have to have the right mix, plus kids who actually want to come to the school and buy into development and the vision of the coaches. If not you end up like Texas A&M with a group of hired mercenaries out for there's.

Just my 2 cents.

Great post, and I agree.

Kelly seems like he isn't going to play the game of a kid wanting to go to the highest bidder. We won't consistently get into that pissing match. Instead it is come to LSU and develop your brand. Kids have gotten paid the correct way at LSU doing this. We have seen examples of what just buying a team does with aTm. A lot of them ending up leaving anyway.

I believe Kelly has the right idea for long term success. It's tough when you are stuck on the outside watching Ole Miss right now, wishing it could be us. But Kelly needs to prove he can develop and win this way.

This year?

I did a quick scan of the recruits and their offers a couple days ago and it didn’t seem that Texas, Georgia or Alabama were serious about any of the players LSU signed this year. The ones they wanted they got.

Well, there are the types of people who spend a ton of money and get a small return. They don't really care, it's like charity to them.

There are people who are more discretionary with their spending. They are just more frugal. They'll spend it, but they want a larger return.

They start with the same amount of money, spend different amounts and somehow end with the same amount of money. Which group is right?

LSU is in the second control group.
