OB board but you need to bring more details since there is not one type of rifle that does every job well.

Without knowing what you will be hunting, I’ll have to say a Tikka .300 Win Mag and you can hunt any North American big game.

If I was dead set on spending up to the 1500$ I would get a Christensen arms ridgline in 6.5 or 308 or the mesa in the same for about 1100$.
The tikkas can be had for a good bit cheaper and are a bargain for how good they are.

It's the right thing to do. I've shot about 20 of them and they all shot great. Lightweight, very reliable, guaranteed to be accurate. That's all that really matters.
