It's idiotic to think LSU cannot come up with 2 -4 million dollars to fire House. They had the money for Denbrook's extension and raise but dont have House's buyout? C'mon man.

Is ND on the hook for Denbrock's buyout? I don't know why assistant coaches/coordinators would have a buyout. They are constantly moving.

There’s a big difference between not being able to come up with the money (which we all know is bullshite) and waiting a bit longer for the NFL coaching carousel to get going. If you know a mutually beneficial arrangement can be set up that will spare House being fired before going off to his next job and us most of that buyout money, then why light that entire amount on fire if you don’t have to?

It’s a monetary reward for failure. Part of what’s wrong with the corporate culture. What blue collar guy gets buyouts?

I know that if everyone that bashes him on here day in day out(also I’m not a House fan) would give a nickel for every time he’s been cussed on the rant, could probably have it by Wednesday

Scone believes that is the reason LSU has not fired House is because the brokers cannot come up with the buyout money

This thread is laughable. House is an outstanding DC. Look at the personnel had had to work with. Smith still recovering from knee surgery. Speights mediocre. DB’s a dumpster fire. Starting safety gets cancer. Guy deserves at least another year. NEED stud DL coach.

NCAA Stats Link
No, not this year anyway. He was pretty awful even against weak opponents. Ranked 101st in total defense.

House is a good DC who has had one great season in college. If you give him a perfectly set up experienced group of players that can understand and execute his complicated scheme, then the results are good or better.

An “outstanding” DC can adjust their scheme to the talent they have. They can mask deficiencies. They can develop players. We didn’t see any of those things from House this year.

With the limited practice time available in college football and the lack of continuity thanks to the portal, a guy like House is a liability now. We need someone with a more college-friendly scheme and who can handle young players better.

He made no obviously needed adjustments. Period. Even with green personnel he could have done that. No scout on Milroe, mishandling of Perkins, way off line of scrimmage….

Depends on how you look at it. He’s actually a really good fit in his current role. It’s ideal for his size and his pass defense PFF grades are the best of any LB in the SEC.

The problem isn’t Perkins’ role. It’s House’s lack of creativity in how he used him there. He could have a lot more impact on the QB and LOS from that spot if House were willing to use others to back him up in coverage. He was too content to play vanilla as hell most of the time once our new players struggled with his system.

Outstanding DCs don’t have 101 ranked defenses no matter what excuses they have. All the fricking clown had to do was have a top 50 D and we are likely in the playoff

Looks to me like his buyout would be 3.5 million.
