Where does the Lakers pick need to land in order not to defer to 2025?

Super weak draft. Defer regardless of position.

Defer unless it’s top 5 which it won’t be.

Better draft next year and Lebron another year older.

if Lebron is even a Laker next season. He might try and weasel his way out of town for wherever Bronny ends up

Others would call that free agency.

I would say top 10.

And there's always the possibility of LeBron or Davis getting a significant injury, so it can't be ruled out.

Defer. We have enough talent already and we're likely to redshirt our own pick this year in some trade. Lakers are not entering the lottery this year. Plus this draft is trash. Top 10 would be outside the lottery in any other draft except maybe 2013. People will be trying to trade out if it's not a top 5 pick.

Yeah I don’t see an organization ready to jump at him yet with the minutes he will get this year.

I don’t see where the Pels are getting minutes for a first-round pick next year. Certainly don’t need two mid to late first rounders.

Unless its top 10 im deferring it. This draft sucks and we dont have a ton of room for a rookie to get minutes. Hell Hawkins can barely see the floor right now

Top 3-4. This draft is very unimpressive

I'm with the majority, I would like to see us defer to 2025, we don't have legit minutes now for Dyson, Liddell or Hawkins, when everyone is healthy so it would make sense to defer until next year.

Unless Lebron or AD has a serious injury, they are going to be a playoff team so its highly likely we are defering to 2025. It would need to be top 10 or 12 for me to take it.
and the only reason i'd take it if it was at 12 or so, is so we could use our own pick and that pick to move up a couple of spots in the draft to take someone we are really wanting at maybe 7 or 8.

I saw before where someone said if we defer the 2024 to 2025, then we get to swap picks in 20024 if applicable.
I can't find that detail anywhere. Can someone find that, and if it is true, then does it apply to 2025 where we could pick swap that year if we were to take the 2024 pick now?

no if we defer this year we don’t have their pick at all. Itll be 2025 no matter where it lands

That's not what i said.
i said pick swap.

What I've seen floating around on here is if we defer this year to 2025, we still get to swap picks with them this year if we were to have the higher pick.

We don’t get any sort of pick swap anymore with them. It’s either we get their 2024 pick or 2025. Nothing else no swaps

We have swap rights with the bucks this year.

The swap option is from the Milwaukee trade.

The swap option from the Lakers was for this past draft where we obviously did not pull the trigger on because we had the better pick.
