It is labeled on their menu with how much caffeine each size of that drink contains.

Right but many have no grasp of that measurement and I’d suspect many read same caffeine as coffee and think that it matches up to a cup of coffee- not that they are drinking 32 ounces of coffee

They have big warning signs up at the drive thru window at Panera about how much caffeine is in these things,
I was about to ask

at PJs, they have a little asterisk next time "high caffeine content" drinks on the menu. I was wondering if maybe Panera had a similar thing on theirs and this insane lemonade drink was more or less put into the same category as a cold brew coffee drink.

Even if you do all of that, you're likely gonna still fall short with your estimation if a 24 Oz drink has 400 mg of caffeine. 133 mg of caffeine is still borderline ridiculous for a cup of dark roast.

There is a reason 5 hour energy still has not been approved by the FDA. The shut is real bad for you.

Fine print on the menu:

Signs on every dispenser:

*Not my pictures.

You have a case of two people, one Ivy League educated, who both had (per their families) medical issues not conducive with high caffeine intake, who (per their families) closely watched their caffeine intake. Both of these people willfully chose to drink large amounts of that lemonade, with that information readily available.

Right, but you know what your in for with stuff like that, and I presume they don't sell Celcius in great biggie size to try to make people think 400 mg of caffeine with their panini is normal.

Honestly I think it’s fascinating that the company really wants to sell it at those levels. Are these like crack for their customers? If not a SERIOUS revenue draw, why not just halve the caffeine in it and still be a hi octane jolt but almost no risk of death for someone drinking them like a normal caffeine drink

they absolutely have to be making bank off them, i imagine a lot of people specifically seek it out since it has such a high caffeine content

It’s the same as a monster. It’s actually less than a Reign. Those are 200mg and 300mg respectively. The problem is the volume. No one is drinking 30ounces of a Monster or Reign energy drink. People are just dumb.

Panera is overpriced and not even fresh across the board. I wish I could find the article, but they’re extremely deceptive about their practices. It’s basically high quality snack and lunch food

I’m just trying to figure out why people at Panera corporate didn’t think that customers could potentially abuse this feature. The drinks dispensers are not behind the counter so it would be extremely difficult to manage this consumption.
