Considering this place for my anniversary. I have never been. Would it be an appropriate place, ambiance-wise?

Edit: I called and received was answered by a recording that said they are currently closed till further notice due to a family emergency. Anybody been recently? They're typically closed on Mondays, so maybe its a default recording.

Yes, absolutely. Fairly small, dimly lit dining area with small bar.

Really good food as well

My wife and I ate there for our anniversary one year. It's nice and very good.

That's my favorite restaurant in BR for anniversaries and birthdays. Make sure you get a pasta dish for your main and don't be tempted with the seafood or steak specials. Get the Putanesca. Even if they dont have it on the menu, ask for it and they should be able to make it for you. Gotta get the gnocci as well.

Nino's is probably my favorite Italian in town and has very good ambiance for a date night.

One of our favorites by far. The decor is nothing wonderful, but don’t let that stop you. Try to sit to the right side as you walk in. I don’t recommend the baked Ziti though as I had it a while back and didn’t enjoy it. Just not my cup of tea. Everything else I’ve ever had there is great.

I agree with every positive thing said. Excellent food/service in a small husband/wife owned place. Don't let the shopping center setting scare you away. The cobbler shop next door almost hides Nino's. When phoning, do so after they open at 5pm.

Our "only for anniversary" place is Maison LaCour. Nino's is a "once a month" place. Nino's serves stiff drinks and generous wine pours.

They are closed temporarily. We had a reservation for this coming Saturday night and they called to tell us they will be closed
