Another option is a Savage 110 Timberline. Blueprinted target style action. 1.5-4lb accutrigger, fluted barrel that's threaded and has a brake. Metal cerakoted in OD green. Camo Accufit Accustock and 8.1 lbs for a .308. LINK Can find them for 900-1000.00 on Gunbroker.

You should look at Sauer & Sons. Extremely well made and as accurate as any production rifle on the market.
I prefer the Classic 7mm-08

My 270wsm Tikka is awesome, but ammo is a bitch to find and doesn't look to be gaining popularity any time soon.
This thread prompted me to go search for some 270wsm online, and I can't find any. I guess I will be searching for a new gun in the near future before I run out of the couple of boxes I have left.

A 3-4lb trigger on a hunting rifle is more than adequate.
I don’t necessarily disagree, it’s not the end of the world especially in the $500 guns, but all of their competition either has a very good trigger or a lot of aftermarket options and it’s a feature that does make a difference in how the gun shoots. It’s not expensive or complicated, I have a $300 savage that can be safely adjusted down to nothing, they are just stuck in the 90’s mindset that they’ll go the way of Remington if they allow for a lighter trigger pull which is highly frustrating considering how good the rest of the gun is.

If I was buying a new rifle I’d get a Winchester model 70 featherweight in 308. But I love blued steel and wood stocks
If I could go back 30 years…I would buy a model 70 blued and wood and used it exclusively. Instead went the synthetic route and have grown to despise them.
Would be nice to pass down a well worn rifle to my son. He’ll get a bunch of them…but none show a lifetime of memories on them.

And one of those was Winchester copper xp where EVERY single bullet was seated at different depths. Sometimes you couldn't see the cantalore at all and sometimes it was completely sticking out of brass. They took them back but didn't have stick to replace them lol

I have a slick .270 Christensen Arms Ridgeline
Bergara 30-06
X Bolt Hells Canyon 6.5 CM
I once had 6.5 PRC but decided scarce ammo was too much of a hassle

I hate browning BACO for ditching the original model 70 trigger. It was perfect. It can't go off unless you pull it and it's got to go off if you pull it hard enough. Traditional mauser style triggers are perfect.
The model 96 mauser is perfect, including the bold blocking follower. Every rifle should just be a carbon copy of that, with a model 70 safety, in whatever caliber. THAT would be perfection. But noooooo gotta have cartridge style triggers and cock on open or we the people won't buy it because we can't drop rounds straight into the chamber and we think cock on close is weird.
The customer is in fact hardly ever right.

Ruger American in Go Wild camo. If you want the easiest ammo to find, cheapest to buy and a long proven history, get the .308.

I’ve ordered from blue collar quite a few times, they have 8 boxes of 270 WSM left, I hope this is useful for somebody trying to get some more life out of their gun.
270 WSM Barnes vortX

Firstly, I hate the looks of a Xbolt. Looks like a toy bb gun to me
ABolts are gorgeous, but Ive shot 2 and neither grouped very well
