The “39” players thing, the program was in shambles, etc.
No longer has ANY bearing on the performance of the LSU football team from this day forward.

It takes time to build back from that level of destruction. So yes it is still part of the reason that the team isn't where it needs to be.
Now I'm not gonna speculate whether Kelly can get it there or not but Miles and O both won titles here

Orgeron set this program back ten years.
Looks like Kelly may catch back up within four or five, which is a tremendous accomplishment considering the shite show he was handed.

I mean that's not true considering that of those 39 players half transfered out anyway. It'll take 4-5 to turn around the roster and that's if there's no misses in recruiting.
Kelly and House deserve blame for the defense this season but to say that after this year O doesn't get anymore blame is crazy

The fact that you think having 39 scholarship players has no bearing 2 years later speaks volumes about your level of intelligence. We have a bunch of freshmen and sophomores running around on defense. Why? Well, you already know why.
Do you really think a guy who’s been in a system for less than a year is going to be at the same level as a guy who’s been in a system 3-4 years? Just stop. A freshman or at times a sophomore have almost no instincts in a new system.
That doesn’t mean the defense wasn’t trash. It doesn’t mean House shouldn’t be canned. But your original assertion is nonsense.

Imagine you’re a personal trainer and a relatively healthy client wants to get in great shape. You start working out him out and it takes a year or so but he hits his goals.
Now imagine your other client is a guy who spent the previous 3 years getting morbidly obese, eating like trash and doing absolutely nothing healthy. You take on the case and start getting him going in the right direction.
Then imagine being pissed that person #2 didn’t get ripped as fast as person #1. Context matters.
Orgeron had this program strung out of drugs, sleep deprived & about 120 lbs overweight. In the two years since Kelly has been here, we’ve literally doubled our win total from the previous two years. It’s obtuse to just ignore the context he took over.

It’s a rebuild. We just finished year 2. What are you yapping about? Lots of programs would be happy to have 9 win seasons during the rebuilding phase.
