Rich Rod

should've hired him in 99.

might even be an upgrade.

also 60 years old, so probably his last stop.

I know Houston is in the Big 12 now but is Houston that much better of a job than Tulane?

Tulane is receiving less than $10MM from its media deal this year. Houston is getting $18MM. In 2025, the new Big 12 deal with Fox and ESPN kicks in, and Houston will get a full share which is expected to be around $40MM.

That doesn’t include a better home schedule of conference games that should significantly increase ticket revenue.

Is it a significantly better job right now? Probably not, but the benefits from being in the Big 12 are just starting. The gap will widen over the next few years.

He should be familiar with recruiting in Louisiana.
He should have a national championship under his belt.
So he won’t be looking to move on to the next job, he should have local ties, if not to Uptown New Orleans, at least no farther away than to Bayou Lafourche.

Not even joking slightly, Ed O.

I think he would be able to rack up more talent than Tulane has ever seen and he wouldn’t have to drive more than an hour from campus to fill an entire recruiting class.

I don’t know what kind of staff he could get at this point though.

Bring back Bennie Ellender. Tulane is still paying him, right?

If Gary Patterson is available then Tulane should make a run at him as well as Rich Rodriguez.

Makes sense that Tulane told him to pound sand with his AD recommendation.

Coaches should not be picking ADs. Especially older coaches / coaches that may soon leave.

If Fritz leaves for a better opportunity, good for him, Tulane should be proud, and move on.

And hopefullty Frtz won't act like a prick on the way out the same way the recently departed AD did.

Fritz is a character guy. Only reason we still have him is because he didn’t want to bail on his players the week of a conference championship game. I doubt he would publicly shite on Tulane like that
