well this is basketball at a big-time basketball school (and now players are getting paid) and this issue involves the best player on the national championship team.

True, we may not be entitled to all information, but this is entertainment paid for by fans. When an elite player isn't playing, it's reasonable to want to know why.

Are we entitled to that info? No.

But the OP is correct that when no info is given, it invites speculation, which brings out all kinds of crazy ideas.

Why not give a general reason, without divulging private details?

Hell, teams give injury reports all the time about a player being out of the game.

Maybe public speculation is a small price to pay for protecting Angel’s reputation and her future?

Why do you feel like you are entitled to every detail about her life?

It adds drama in the media and message boards but not within the team. Everyone on that team and coaching staff knows exactly what caused the suspension and Mulkey’s feelings on what happened.

You dumb motherfricker, a coach would be violating FERPA laws by talking about a student’s grades.

Mulkey delivered a national championship in her second year coaching here. She can handle it any way she fricking wants to.

Not surprising one of the all-time stupidest posters to ever post here would weigh in with another dumbshit take.

Because most “general” reasons just tell you exactly what it is.

If she says, Angel has some work to do in the classroom… whats left to the imagination? Her exact gpa?

nobody is saying we're entitled to that.

We just want to know why she's not on the court. Crazy, I know.

We have a fairly successful coach who has dealt with a number hi profile players in her career. I’m good with her working whatever the situation might be out.

because it may be information that could damage her reputation and compromise her draft stock. It may be personal and something she has opted to keep out of the public sphere. Can you even fricking read?

You do realize that these things are private matters and
like lawyer client privelige the same goes for college
students and coaches.

Every media outlet that covers the sport has run multiple articles on the situation. The OP isn't an Itty bitty factor in adding drama.
