I think repubs come together and push Guillory over the line.

I hope you're right. I don't want Kathleen Blank Stare's fake Republican daughter as mayor.

I early voted for Josh, but people are really stupid.

Unfortunately, I think Blanco might win. I hope I’m wrong.

Can someone tell me what Monique's pitch is to be mayor president? I know she's Kathleen Blanco's daughter, but has she built a business or done something to provide bona fides for the office other than be involved in a bunch of quasi-government entities?

I gotta bad feeling Monique is going to win. Sure hope I'm wrong. Voter turnout is always an unknown the 2nd time around.

She's pretty much just a nagging Karen. But a lot of women like that in a politician.

Josh has gone full negative campaign to deflect against his record.

It should be close.

As much as I love Lafayette, this is why I'm never moving home. "One of Us" gone way too far

I supported Jan Swift. I don't like Josh very much, but there is no way I'm voting for Blanco. The dumb cajun chick thing about 'a woman coming in to clean up the mess' dies a pretty quick death when you consider who Monique's mother was, and the mess she left.

And the fact that Monique became a republican less than a year ago lets you know that even she knows her true party is worthless.

For all of his faults, Josh has actually accomplished several things. I'll vote for him, hope for the best for the next four years, and then get someone else. I don't ever want to live in a town ruled by democrats. They have utterly destroyed every major city in America.

Blanco won’t win. It’ll be close but I think Josh will pull thru. That being said his arse needs to be gone after this term.

Depends how many of Jan Swift's original supporters/voters follow her endorsement of Blanco-Boulet, after she previously said she wasn't going to endorse either runoff candidate and trashed them both in her "concession speech.

I'm thinking the more conservative Swift voters aren't going to pull the lever for a previously lifelong Democrat. If she was of a conservative mind but just a Democrat because that's what her mother and father were, then she would have changed her affiliation about 10-15 years or so years ago when you saw actual conservative Democrats in Acadiana, like Simone Champagne and others, do so.

I do know some very active local Democrat Party players, though, who also supported Swift initially and voted for her, thinking she was the only one with a real chance to beat Guillory. Sort of a lesser of two evils. They'll probably definitely switch over to Boulet.

I'd place my money on Guillory pulling it off, though. Maybe something like 54-46??

I only know one person who was a Swift supporter. He now has a Guillory sign in his yard.

I know several previous Swift supporters, on both sides of the political aisle. The Democrats are definitely voting Boulet.

There is a contingent of Joey Durel/Don Bertrand City of Lafayette Republicans who were definitely Swift supporters and dislike Guillory so much that they’ll cross over. Sort of like the Never-Trump Republicans who voted GOP in down ballot races in 2020 but pulled the lever for Joe Biden.

But I still believe Josh will win. Majority of Republican voters who supported Swift will likely vote Guillory in the end.
