there are none of the above that make what the major, not talking bug smashers or fly by nights, airline pilots are making, in the same amount of days per month, and when the brakes are set the job is over until its time to go back to work

ETA: and you're right, they have done just fine, and not everyone wants to be a pilot, I'm just pointing out that you have some heinous misinformation

What are some pilot techniques to use for severe turbulence, any tips?

Um, yeah, there’s a bit more to it than “applying.” And the same can be said for any Service Academy. I know this first hand. Great way to go though, if you’re qualified.

Unless he's a D1 athlete or a really in demand minority, 17 is likely too late to start on a Service Academy path.

that will help the passengers too, no one seeks out turbulence but you can get into it inadvertently, and unforecast/foreseen

He will never be criticized for being a professional pilot. But he ain’t gonna be rewarded either.

It’s better now than it’s ever been, in fact. You can sit right seat and choose to never upgrade to captain, make $300K+ per year while working less than half the month, and get a 15-18% defined contribution to your 401K without contributing a cent of your own.

Show me any other job in the world, in any industry, that allows someone to do that.

That's what we were planning to do, just wanted to get some advice and see if we were not missing out on better opportunities.

I plan on using FBK when I decide to return to flying. You may also look at Air Reldan. They're out of New Orleans, but have an operation at the St. Tammany airport. I guess they're still around.

I’ve seen several people say this, but I haven’t seen any explanations.

Can someone explain? I understand they have a degree program.

What do the captains make?

Under the new contracts at Delta, United, and American, most of them are making $400K+ without much effort. Some are making much more than that, depending on how they play the system. It can vary widely based on type aircraft, how much they work, premium pay, profit sharing, etc.

even before the new contract wide body captains over here that played the premium game were knocking at the door of seven figures, wide body FOs mid to high six figures, I know an A320 captain that made about 750k

now tack on 20-40% and play the premium game, I've a buddy, 737 CA, kids are gone so he bids a trip, dumps it all into open time and just cherry picks premium trips that have been built due to busted sequences, he also does the IMax and triple dips after that, I'm going to ask him what he made in '23

ETA: thought you guys had some A350 baws go over seven figs right before Covid?

Unless he wants to be in the military absolutely not. If he wants to serve then fine.
