He was also a main character in “All The Light We Cannot See”. Very good actor.

Pretty solid episode 6. I'm really starting to like this series. More so than I thought I would after the first episode. Kind of like how The Pacific grew on my as it got in the later episodes.

*Spoilers in the below questions*

Did that city scene (or something similar) with Bucky and the other POWs really happen?

Was the woman with Crosby an intelligence officer?

I can’t answer if it actually happened to Bucky, but similar scenes absolutely happened to downed airmen.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought for the most part, the Germans treated their prisoners good outside of Jews and Russians. I guess a bunch of raucous townspeople that just got bombed is a powder keg waiting to go off.

The real Egan wasn't there but it was probably based on this:

How would you treat a downed airman that just bombed your town?

It was the Brits, not Americans that bombed that city

Yeah, I can't say I blame the townspeople. If I had just pulled my kid's body out of the rubble and then they guys responsible just happened to be walking by, you damn well better believe I'm jumping in on that dog pile to kill them. I was just curious if it actually happened to Bucky or was just a fictional scene to show that these sorts of things happened. Similar to the train of Jews a little later on.

Exactly like we saw in Ep. 6. Those murderous Nazis knew what they were doing.

Germany started it, frick those citizens. They got what they deserved. It’s not like we Pearl Harbor’ed their asses. Their fanatical country tried to take over a whole continent, what’d they expect? Our boys to drop chocolate bars on their towns?

As the great lyricist Lil Jon said, don’t start no shite won’t be no shite!

Love the show, but if you’re just getting started, don’t look at the episode photos.

Honestky, I really hope not. All of the guys who participated in that escape were executed. There was like 30 of them I think.

I also don't care about seeing the Great Escape again and I know Spielberg and Co. are too smart to do that, too.

Also, The Grand Tour went to Stalag Luft III last year and the tour guide explained how well the prisoners were treated there. They had a pool, a soccer field, a full fledged movie theater, and more.

The Germans treated the American and British flight officers extremly well by POW standards. There was essentially a gentlemen's respect among them from the German forces.

Now... The Slav and Russian and Pole POWs ..... That's another story.

And they knew they were Americans. They were still people reacting to people who hurt their families. People can argue they had it coming but it doesn’t change the fact they were people looking at airmen who had dropped bombs on their heads. If you saw them while pulling family members out of the rubble would you care if they dropped bombs on you in the day or night?

The German interrogator still has me scratching my head. The episode flew by and now we got to wait a damn week. But I sure was happy to see Buck again.

Many (most?) were bombed by both.

Yes but the Brits were not only responsible for the night bombings but it was those bombing that included civilian targets as they dropped with no concern due to lack of accuracy the Americans had.

Now with that said the Germans bombed the crap out of London/England and did not care what they hit.

In war those not directly involved always seem to suffer the most.
