The areas they fishing oysters were freshwater before the levees were built. Along came the levees, the area got saltier, they started making reefs and doing really well with it. Now the area they fish is being returned to fresh water and the fisherman are complaining.

In 15-20yrs without any diversions all the reefs will be sanded in. Oysters don’t grow on the beach or the gulf, once all the reefs are dead they will sue for not protecting them.

On Federal lands in CA Juniper trees that are over 100 years old are considered cultural resources.

Juniper is a non-native invasive species in the great basin....
