Chill out man. You don't have to overreact.

I know a lot of coaches and have been in the lower ranks for many years. He was not happy that he lost his job at LSU.

But of course, if he was offered $2,000,000 he would accept. However, it’s not a “total lie” that he has sour grapes.

You can't be serious. House is a moron. The guy sat there and let Milroe abuse him without making one defensive change. A moron could see that perkins needed to be more involved near the line of scrimmage and also spying the qb. Holy shite house is an idiot. I've been saying it since last yr. No way kelly keeps him.

Lol, you don’t shite about defense. What Matt House did with the defense last year was admirable. Who do you want at defensive coordinator smart guy?

There is not a defensive coach in the nation that could turn our current defensive roster into an average defense. It really is that bad imo.

Nah. We’ve seen good, competent defenses at places like Vandy and Arkansas with less talent than we have right now. With a simpler scheme and better coaching and development, we would be a lot better than this. Maybe just middle of the pack average, but the staff is definitely playing a role here.

Last year’s defense was a lot better than this one, but it had some key veteran leaders and we hit on every guy we took in the portal. But even though they were good, it still took time for House to install his over-complicated scheme, and we still had some very poor defensive performances.

House isn’t the only DC who runs a complicated defense. However, look at others like Saban, Aranda and Barry Odom. They adjust to their players. They get young guys on the field. They and their staff’s are able to effectively teach their players how to execute their defenses.

After the Bama game, one of our DL said they were still having communication issues…after a bye week 3/4 of the way through the season. It is very clear that our players do not understand the scheme and can’t execute it and that hasn’t improved.

If you are going to run a complex scheme with the practice time limits imposed on college football, then you have to be flexible and be a good teacher. House has failed miserably at both and hasn’t made enough adjustments to work around what he has. He’s never going to be consistently successful as a college DC because of that.

Schumann would be amazing, but no way he makes a lateral move. He’s padding his resume at Uga and only a couple seasons off from a HC job.

Leonhard and Aranda, definitely. I would only think they would be here for a season or 2 before going to HC role somewhere.

If offered, Baker will immediately take it!
He’s young, experienced, and a good recruiter with ties all through LA, Houston and south Florida.

I honestly think that if Kelly does move on from house it will be a guy that isn't mentioned on this list

Most likely. Nobody knew about House. I have to believe BK is a little smarter than this board.

people that do not pay attention did not know about him. House had Kentucky's defense top ten in the country when he was there. Lots of people knew about House before his arrival at LSU.

Schumann isn’t leaving Georgia but for a HC job like Lannning. If you want to go the Georgia route, Muschamp could be an option. He’s going to have to cool his jets for a HC job after the UF and USCe failures. He could get a Sun Belt/AAC job perhaps but otherwise may have to settle in for a lifetime DC career at this point.

Maybe, it's not so much a need to change the defensive coordinator as it needs to look at position coach changes. Are the players being taught techniques well enough to be effective in Matt House's defense or any defense?

a. D-line - Is it worth the risk health-wise to rely on Jimmy Lindsey to fulfill that position next year? Does LSU need to hire a good d-line coach as an analyst in-case Lindsey has more medical issues?

b. DB coach - replace one or both with guys with strong recruiters who are also able to get freshman ready to play in House's full defense (know all the coverages and schemes he prefers to run).

not a big recruiter and his numbers are inflated from getting to play 6 games a year against big 10 west offenses

Muschamp's current position is DB/Co-DC at UGA. He is coaching his son, working with a good friend and coaching in the middle of an historic run at UGA. If/when Schumann takes a HC position, there will be a full-time DC opening for him where he currently is employed. IMO, there are too many factors weighing on the side of staying put where he is.
