My son came home and said the ceremony was tonight and said Messi should win. Of course I blindly said Haaland to start an argument. Found the stream a few minutes before it was announced, my son then talked shite about it. That’s all I’ve got.

And was the best player in the world…again.

Did you complain when Modric won it in 2018?

That was certainly a big part of it.

Regardless, whether or not who should have won that year, Haaland should have won this year.

I think what bothers me the most was that it became obvious that there was nothing Haaland could do. The Ballon D’or was effectively just the World Cup Golden Ball.

Messi's acceptance speech basically said he thought Haaland should have won it and will win in future. Oh well, way to out GOAT.

lol, wasn't even the best player on his team (until he went to MLS and collected a paycheck to sit out most of the games) or in the tournament.

Didn't he lead Real to the 2017 UCL and La Liga titles?

Ghosted in the finals. Man City had 3 players in the top 5, 5 in the top 10. They are an all-time team. Gotta shine in those big moments.

Honestly, about as much as Haaland did in it.

And I love Haaland.

Let’s talk about their loss to Real Madrid. They were winning it but nooooooo the manager just HAD to sub off Paredes and ofc it doesn’t take much for Marquinhos to frick up. Their UCL exits were never Messi’s fault
