Doesn't matter, I wouldn't have listened to some old fart trying to tell me what's important in life.

Love ya dad. You were right.

every week,(startuing in 1977) buy 2 new hot wheels cars, and 2 vinyl lp'S.
Store them well. don't open them. Invest your money in those no matter what the experts say.

Just realized my street survivors album(s) are worth good money. (original release with concert schedules, pristine shape) I have 1/2 dozen "sweet 16" hotwheels that are worth hundreds each, and they are in poor condition or more.

"1969 Pink, Rear-Loading Beach Bomb - which is stated to be worth US$175,000 !"

This Eagles lyric is so strong - wish I would have listened to it in my younger years. But I am very happy & satisfied in my life today…..so maybe it’s for the better that I didn’t hear it earlier.

So often that it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key.

1. Never buy a new car, always buy used for cheap
2. Go to college without debt

Still paying off both of those mistakes

Aside from the obvious get rich choices....

* Spend more time with my parents, they were both gone way too early. Can't get that back.
* Spend more time with my brother, we grew apart in those early years after college and even though we're close, we missed out on spending some early adult experiences together. Can't get that back.
* Save more. While I didn't make a lot for quite a few years after college, I didn't save as much as I should have.
* Should have left my first career at least 5 years before I did. My second career is what will take care of me and my wife (no pictures) in retirement. If I'd done that, I'd be retiring within the next 2-3 years instead of the next 7-8 years.
* The obvious others, take better care of my health, spend more time with friends/family/mentors that are not here any longer, more time in church and work harder in school.

Or he could have just copy and pasted song lyrics from a popular song from the late 90’s…

Don't waste half your life doing what's safe or let other people drag you down by always catering to what they expect of you. Trust yourself and make the leap. Don't let other people's self doubt stop you from fulfilling your potential.

It gets better, way better, but you have to want it and work for it.

I often wonder what my life would be like if I hadn't let 15 years of it disappear into depression and anxiety.

AMEN! Through about the age of 25 I was very unsure of myself and my place in the world. By the time I was 30 I couldn't care less what anyone outside of my wife, my dad or my son thought of me and it has been the best thing that ever happened to me. My son is in the same boat at 24 but shows signs of maturing past it. The next most liberating thing to happen to me is to get to a point in life where getting laid can happen or it can not happen and I am just as good either way. Being a slave to a hard on is rough but something most men do....
