Assuming we go into full rebuild mode next year, who would you want to be the cornerstone of the new Saints? Is it a player or Coach, or new GM?

well that would be fine, but we have the Carr contract.

Could you draft a rookie and then deal Carr in 2025?

Take a tackle in the first, kick Penning to LG. Try to trade up with Denver’s second to take a qb that falls. One will since they have so many this year. Take our lumps with Carr another year then cut bait. Hopefully the rookie learns under the new head coach and is ready to take over in year 2. Basically try to mimic the Eagles and Hurts.,

That’s the best I got….

Something tells me if the saints go into full rebuild mode they will suck for 10 years, I’d just start over with coaching staff and use the good players we already have and let the new staff draft as they see fit

The better question is what's it going to cost to trade up and get the player they're going to target that the entirety of the Saints board will poo poo on from day one.

At this point, you get an OL with the first and hopefully land Jayden Daniels with the second, potentially trading up into later first round. JD sits a year while Carr rides out 2024 with JD taking over in 2025.

We probably have to suck up 24 and 25 being bad years as we work our way through cap hell and restock the shelves with rookie talent.

And sadly, this is where things get tricky. Honestly, you are better off keeping Allen as no coach wants to be in charge of a tanking operation. Then maybe you get a new coaching staff in 2026. The problem is your current regime is drafting 24 and 25.

It’s not perfect but this is most likely the way forward, unless you land a coach that can be patient with a rebuild and a front office that recognizes the issue.

Palestine.

Jk..jk... a new HC. Trade away everyone and start the rebuild with a solid HC.

Jayden is the only answer.

The Saints way to draft would be to pick a QB in 2nd round few wanted. Keep him behind Carr for three years. Green Bay gives us a fourth for him in a trade and he goes and wins two Super Bowls with them!

The word “tank” implies that the team has some control over wether or not they win in a given week… I’m not sure that’s true in this case

I would say you take a QB just in case. Let him get a year or two behind Carr and competing with Haener.
This team needs a new HC before anything though obviously

land Jayden Daniels with the second,

no way Daniels lasts till the second round, i know that what people said but he has improved enough to be a first rounder. great size, great speed and he is pushing the ball downfield now. Would love to draft him!!

Does he come with Coach Prime?

Also, if they are waiting until 2025 for a QB, they must be targeting McNamara from Iowa. Project player and the 2nd time he's had a season end with knee injury.
