This kid is going to be so good. The school he moved to in Texas is playing against Desoto for their first state championship. He leads the defense with 88 tackles and 16 tackles for loss. Their defense has help opponents to like 13 points per game. From what I’ve read he’s the captain of the defense. It seems whatever troubles he had in Louisiana he has left behind him.

He blew up the tight end and took him off his feet.

He's had that instinct to play linebacker since his sophomore season at J-Hodge. The only question was whether he could gain enough weight to play LB in college. And I think he has. He's a definite 2 to 3 year starter for LSU.

His instincts are very good. I could see why some would be worried about his size.
I'm not. His react skills along with his pop is crazy. I love how he attacks.
Lsu needs more of that.

And you already have Moses for next year and maybe make ford a LB. Might have to play 5 linebackers at once.

Best part about Atkins is that he actually knows how to tackle. He's not just running straight down hill and dropping his shoulder into guys.
He actually moves laterally, wraps up, and keeps his head up. His highlights remind me so much of Devin White. Only difference is about 30 pounds

Singleton, Atkins and Keys are probably one of the most athletic LB classes we've had in a while. They just need to add some good weight/muscle to hold up to an SEC schedule.

If they did an updated rankings Atkins would probably be at the top. He’s even a finalist for Mr. Football in the state.
