The DDD has been terrible for the downtown nightlife. They only really want hotels and boutique businesses.

If anyone can turn this around, it’s Ice House Anthony.

They could put a weave shop and a dollar store in those locations to help our underserved communities

Hotels don’t really flourish downtown when there is very little in the way of dining and nightlife.

Most of downtown closes around 5PM, if not sooner, and is completely dead whenever city and state employees aren’t working.

oof.gif

So the guy is bouncing checks to one landlord, and the other landlord he stiffed during Covid.

I wonder if this guy got Covid handouts.

Does happy make most of their money on a Friday or Saturday when wedding parties make their way over there?

I don’t see any other reason to go there.

Funny enough, last time I was there was after my own wedding and I can’t think of any reason I’ll be there anytime soon.

I guess they probably catch some Live After Five people. When I’ve been there early, it feels like a lot of the people there are regulars.

SWB promised to improve NBR at the expense of downtown, where Kip was focusing. Now NBR is still shiite and downtown is headed in that direction.

It all started with that complete lie that downtown bar owners were the ones asking for open container laws to be enforced - they were the ones providing plastic cups.

Still if I owned the Happy’s building I would try hard to find a solution to keep Happy’s in that spot. You’re flat delusional if you think you’re going to get a more reliable tenant. It’ll just become another downtown vacancy that stays vacant for 15 years.

Roux House was the shite back from about 2011-2014. Spent many a weekend there in my lower 20s. Lucy's was on its way down by time we started going down there. I also remember way over dressing to get into The Office as a youngster

RIP punchers. UFC fight nights will never be the same.

Doesn’t happy still charge a cover? That’s part of the problem. I’m not standing at an atm in downtown Br.

In the 90's it was so dead that Second District used to assign a single car to work the entire downtown area on swing and midnight shift. It was a great gig to catch some zzzzz's as there was no one down there after dark. Like a post apocalypse movie.
