yeah, i guess this is objectively pretty egregious, literally celebrating the death of innocent children.
That and there was no “angry mob” chasing Mia with torches and pitchforks until they forced playboy to bend to their will. It looks like the editor of playboy saw the tweet and said “aww helz naw beeyatch”.

YES WE frickING GET IT. the ACKSHUALLY replies every time this topic comes up are the worst.
yes, the first amendment protects your speech from the repercussions from the government. but when the media, social media, the online outrage mob, and the government are all marching in lockstep, what's the functional difference? do you REALLY have freedom of speech if your entire livelihood is at stake every time you post an opinion online?
"you have freedom of speech but not freedom from being punished for that speech" doesnt sound much like free speech to me.
note - i'm speaking in generalities, not specifically to this porn star thing

You people have no idea what freedom of speech even means.
There was no interference or retaliation from the government for what she said.
A company fired her for what she said. They have a right to fire or cut ties with whomever they choose in accordance with employment laws of whatever contract existed between the parties.

Supporting terrorism will prob get you fired from your private employer.

I agree 100% and I wish we as a society reacted more harshly to entities silencing people speaking than we do for the respected words that are said by the people being silenced.

No one stopped Mia from talking. But that doesn’t mean there are no consequences.

Get fired because of expressing an opinion
There was once a time when this board opposed this practice
Good to see y'all have come around and now we agree people can be fired for expressing thoughts

But this didn’t happen here.
So your whole argument has no relevance to what happened to her.
Your argument is more apt to the cake baker where the state of Colorado tried to injure him due to his religion and the Supreme Court says, no you can’t do that.

Jews are untouchable. They control the media and the banks. Jews are the original globalists! Never forget it!

Kek. Can't do that when your boss is a jew.

I think this board has always been OK with a business doing as a business pleases.
What this board hates is when online mobs go out of their way to dox someone with the purpose of getting them fired
In this case, no one had to dox Mia. She dug her own grave and the company acted how they felt was best

How is free speech dead? She can continue to run her vile mouth as long as she likes. No one’s stopping her.

i already acknowledged this. i said in the exact post that you quoted that i'm speaking in generalities. i'm more replying to other posts on this thread than this specific incident.
but no, my argument is not apt to the baker situation. that was literally the government getting involved, which is not what i'm talking about.

Yes I read what you posted.
None of what you said happened to her. Everything you said happened to the cake baker.
Online mob. That’s how it escalated.

that's two sides of the same coin though.
